sorry what i meant by double class was actually taking 2 classes con concurrently which i don't think will be possible for lower levels. if memory serves me well and the practice hasn't change then most classes below pre-advance tend to end sometime in late October. after that you have the choice of self studying for jlpt 3/4 or going for their prep class. double classes where you take the normal progressive classes and the prep class is applicable for higher levels i think, pre advance and above like i did last year with pre-advance and jlpt 2 prep.

prep classes are 2hrs and 45 min while duration of normal classes depends on the frequency of the class per week. not sure about the twice a week kind but once week classes are 2 hr 30 min.

i came from full time basic class before switching to part time due to army so i feel that in terms of content i dun think you will lose out. what you do lose out however is the constant exposure every single day to jap which i feel is very crucial if you want to master it (like how people can go japan for 1 year and get jlpt1). in my basic class then, i had people who joined in basic 2 who crashed course the previous year in jlpt4 prep course and what i could observe is that while they still had the same level as all of us, they were just not as confident in conversing and the usage of jap. this is probably due to the minimal lack of exposure, prep course is once a week with no focus on conversations.

@dimitri_can : according to JEES website, the revision will be

n1: approximately same passing level as current jlpt1
n2: approximately same passing level as current jlpt2
n3: positioned at a level bridging level 2 and level 3
n4: approximately same passing level as current jlpt3
n5: approximately same passing level as current jlpt4

ですから、女性は間違ったと思います。そして、どうしてあったを使うんですか、いったではありませんか。

@bumblebee : which level did the placement test put you at? if they put you in basic 2 then you will also be covering some short form aka plain form the -ru, -ta, -nai verbs etc. so you will also be able to understand them. anyway the difference between the plain form and the polite form of jap is only the verb form and some occasional sentence structures due to the dropping of particles or emphasis on certain subjects. otherwise the grammar pattern is still the same. correct me if i'm wrong

actually, it should be ”ある日”

grammatical correct is いった女性 but あった女性 also can

depends on what u wanna say.
in that case, i should be "the girl who was there", meaning いました。 therefore, it should be いた女性。
if you wanna say, "the girl who went there", you will have to say 行きました、therefore, should be 行った女性。

i prefer the first sentence, coz you are saying, "you went to kino, and there was this girl there".
sounds more natural than "you went to kino, and this girl went there"

Hw long is the duration for the double classes u mention above?...and also to all ppl studying ikoma...does studying 3hrs weekly in part time class losing out much to those who study twice a week or even full time class in terms of conversation and knowing new words etc.

i am learning basic 2 at Ikoma now...

if u aiming for JLPT 3 this year, need to clear intermediate 2 to attack JLPT 3 ... :D
