Also, you learned 向き and 向け in N2. Have you seen 何に向けて before?


Nowadays N1 exam is not testing N1 stuff, but overall understanding of N1-N5. So my advice to you would be to revise your N2-N5 stuff before attempting N1.

I didn't actually learn 持って in you are talking about the grammar rule, I took Bunka lessons from Basic to Intermediate and self studied a little before I took JLPT3, so I think maybe my foundations are not very solid.

Yes, I have seen 何に向けて before. I think you are right about my grammar, I haven't been studying for 5 years+, so it could be that my grammar is all over the place. I wanted to start revising my grammar after bringing my vocabulary to N2 level.

No worries about language, I'm pretty sure I have a long way to go as well. Maybe passing N2 by luck (and cheating since I know Chinese and can decipher the kanjis) gave me the impression that I'm good enough. My primary concern is not actually passing N1, that's a bonus. My ultimate goal is to be able to read light novels and speak at a natural pace.

hmmmm isnt the 6-form (te-form) taught in bunka elementary? quite weird/rare to see tt bunka students commenting on weak foundation/grammar, cos that's their advantage over other sch. hahaha. maybe I m biased since I was Bunka student. hahahaha.

The gurus I have met from Bunka are strong in grammar. Not to say other schools are weak though, so was wondering why.... Maybe rusty?

e.g. the different forms of words bunka ele 1 start teaching le, but others is learn them along the way as one progresses. so the end outcomes might be same if students continue all the way, but likely differ if stopped halfway.

so bit puzzling ex-bunka saying grammar not strong then again, their final exams are easy till PA levels.

To a certain extent, I would say that the BUNKA patented way of teaching grammar is beneficial for 3rd language learners till say basic ~ intermediate level say N5 ~ N4. This is assuming that the students do their part and learn also in a holistic manner.

one interesting experience I had when I was taking my JLPT 1 exams years ago.
we sat on a long table, not individual table for the exam.
the person beside me kept on looking at my papers, so i thought, if u wanna look then look lor and didn't block her.
after the exam, was talking to her and she asked me "where did you study?"
i told her Ikoma and she said " oh....no wonder......so fast finished your papers"

wanted to tell her.....fast only....correct or wrong is another matter. haha

hi guys, been learning Japanese for about 1.5 years now, gonna take N4 this dec, but kinda having difficulty with the harder kanji, so was thinking of getting a denshi jisho, but not sure of what model to get (so many on denshi jisho.com)

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good model that can last me till N1 and beyond?
