He's talking about those LED lights they use outside as well

It's not a bulb
It's a circular light
It's not screwed on
i see, before this thread i was seriously considering changing to those circular led to replace my circular ballast tube

Actually it's easy to replace
If electrician did a proper job for you and taught you how to replace
You can replace yourself

Unsurprisingly some aren't willing to do both

Hmmm
Get that magnetic plate one

That is just stick new lights on magnetic plate and connect the cables correctly
i got an electricity friend that can change for me. only thing is is ts's referring to this type of led lights. i also don;t want to tear up the old fashion light tubes and replace with led and later regret

We were always told the 'benefits' of it - it saves electricity and can last very long, blah blah.

But then when you ownself want to replace, it is a bit complicated. Either need to hire handyman or ownself refer to tutorials and ownself figure out.

I managed to do ownself... But it is hell. I cannot replace it at night then must endure until next morning... Have to use table lamp. Then next morning when want to replace, must unscrew so many parts. Then I realised we got tricked because we were told LED light could last 5,000 hours or what, but then when I counted it barely even reached 2,000 hours as advertised.

And depending where you installed the LED light, it can be pointless. For example, toilet... You don't use toilet for hours what. At most, at night or during dark rainy days, and you usually just use 5-30 mins max.

And if you notice, the LED lights are usually in serial connection (one connecting to the next), so if suay suay after the first LED is burnt, the rest all cannot on liao since there's no 'closed' circuit. And you don't know where is the fault sometimes, the connection or LED adapter.

When want to replace, usually must replace the whole damn thing... Then must unscrew here and there, and replace the compartment just to slot out the LED parts.

I rather stick to my old 8 watt light bulb sua. Just unscrew and put in. Easy.

Also, replace normal light bulb - $5-8. Anyone can do, even your parents or grandma or grandpa.
Replace LED, $15-20; if hire handyman add in $30-50.
Correct. Ts you finally understood what it means to socialize cost privatize profits.

In this case profits ish KPI...

Like I said the magnetic plate I think is drill the plate on ceiling

Later on when light blows, unscrew lights via cable and put new lights attach via magnetic plate and connect cable

If connecting cables isn't for you, then no LED for you or get your electrician buddy to do it

Sorry, need to clarify: what I meant by "unscrew many things" is the fixture...

Like example, ceiling fan + light... You need to take out the canopy, find the adapter, then still need to take out the LED compartment part to replace the LED light, etc etc. For my model, the LED adapter and everything is below the ceiling fan and in a circular compartment. The LED adapter is at the top which I can see as soon as I unscrew the part... But the LED light part is under a layer that is also screwed to. So I need to do a lot of unscrewing just to replace. Maybe it is just me suay la got this type of fixture...

Anyway, I appreciate everyone for giving recommendations like 'replace socket to fit e27' but my ceiling fan's light compartment won't be able to fit that. But will consider that for other fixture that can fit in.

And thanks to @wongminmin for the suggestion, I think that 2-pin connector will help me tremendously.

TS, now you are talking about replacing the LED lights in a ceiling fan, rather than an LED ceiling light per se.

totally different story wor.

not really true la
for my case led really spoil...
i test it by replacing driver first since online ppl always say driver will KO faster but my led still doesnt light up...only replace led then works. surprisingly my old driver still alive but led spoil

To all the LED light experts here, my cove light (LED strips) at my false ceiling suddenly turned "dim" for quite some time. Do you guys know why?
Most likely the driver problem

Can, you just need to know how to pry the lid open. Yours will be easier to replace as compared to ceiling fan lights or what, or even my toilet light's LED because mine requires a lot of unscrewing.

Just make sure you switch off your lights and circuit breaker.

Then figure out the right LED (size, watt, etc) to use.

Again, have to see what the connectors are like... If you suay suay like my toilet light LED, there's no 'connector wire' one, it is just live and neutral wire connect to the LED adapter and taped up only. This one I suggest you use what @wongminmin suggested - that 2-pin connector.

I have some lights using similar to this type now.

Get those with space in the middle part. Because there may not be enough space on the plate for this. Not sure if you know what I mean.

Actually it is still as simple provided that you don't buy rubbish like TS did.

My LED ceiling fans x3 just arrived as I was reading this thread. Damage $150 for after shipping factored in.
