so which one better built in quality against the environment conditions?

Dell VS Panasonic:s12::D

if i were to help my company to buy rugged laptop definitely i will opt for Dell series. Both specification achieve high specification for Rugged laptop usage but Dell outshrine Panasonic in term of after sale service. Their core business involve laptop/desktop definitely could provide better service support(include accidental damage service) and extend warranty service to cater for company needs. You definitely want easy & fast support for your company laptop in case any issue happen.

The camera and internal mechanism need to change for any laptop design, thus newer models then can consider the camera.

such a pity that Dell Inspiron 15 7000 with 4K UHD touch screen does not have Intel Realsense camera, such high specs laptop should have everything~

there are other brands that have built-in Intel Realsense camera without having sacrifice aesthetics ~

any Dell Inspiron 15 or other series at the range of $500-800 with Intel Realsense camera~?

There was no need for 4K UHD touchscreen , maybe FHD screen with Intel quad core will do~

Students and young children not much buying power without parents help , unable to afford above $1000 laptop, since nowadays a 15.6" laptops with quad core celeron are sell at $300+ at SLS.

I also think that Dell Inspiron 15 7000 with 4K UHD touch screen will shorten the battery life.

But for students, their classroom now equipped with power plug, no problem for whatever duration they may be using~

I am not sure how many applications support 4K UHD, maybe youtube perhaps?

Normally higher resolution eats more battery ba, so Dell Inspiron 15 7000 should follow suit. I see those smartphones also like that. Sometime I wonder if it's really worth to sacrifice battery life for better screen clarity since he is already v clear le

Do we really need specific games to test Intel RealSense 3D Camera and Window 10 Hello for Dell Inspiron 24 7000 ?! :s11:

now Intel real sense still in test market stage so there is only limited games use RealSense 3D Camera.

Actually for intel if they wish to make their RealSense Camera into wider use instead of just use on computer like dell Inspiron 24 7000, they could partner with sony or microsoft to implement on their gaming console. Since Intel dont go into gaming console market they can get into some partnership afterall kinect use sth similar

no it does not come with a optical drive.

i feel thats the right move because the use of disk is not really very common now. most ppl are using USB and SD cards. not having the optical drive will help make the laptop lighter, which i believe thats what dell is trying to do, to mitigate the size of the laptop. 15" laptop are not light.

You can see dell reinforcing this idea with the SSD M2 slot. by using SSD M2 instead of the full size 2.5" SSD, more weight can be cut off.

i have had 15" laptops in the past, and carrying it around is no joke.

still remember yrs back using dell Inspiron 6000 mine first dell laptop~ heavy and big 15inch laptop last time no such thing as ultrabook haha and that time not cheap~ as expensive as now Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series. Now laptop so much lighter compare last time.

optical drive now hardly use and external optical drive they make until very small & slim not hard just to bring along one in ur laptop bag :)

Does the Dell Inspirion 15 7000 come with an optical drive ?
The optical drive can be swapped for a HDD caddy for another HDD/SSD for more storage space in addition to the 1TB 5400rpm SATA Hybrid HDD.

Optical drive like not common these days. My laptop comes with one but I only use it like 3-4timea over 5years :s22:

So I think even if Dell Inspiron 15 7000 no have that is really fine :o

You can always purchase a cheap notebook + separate standalone Realsense camera for that....

But take note again for realsense to even work, your notebook CPU has to have at least Haswell Intel Core i3 and above.

Both Sony and Microsoft are using AMD custom APU on the core of their console... You think Intel will let that happen?

Windows 10 Hello is meant to replace passwords. Instead of inputing your password, the Windows unlock your computer with your face. Using Intel® RealSense™ 3D Camera, it can scan your facial features and compare with the stored image of the owner's face in Windows 10. This is similar to cars remote unlocking technology.

Yeah Intel realsense is suppose to compliment Windows Hello with even more secure depth sensing facial recognition. Meanwhile Windows Hello is just Microsoft native program for biometric unlocking, instead of relying on custom proprietary bloatware found on some PC manufacturer's PC models like Lenovo.... :s22:

Acutally numpad only take up extra space for regular users. The reason why they include it on gaming laptops is well, because of gaming. A lot of games utilize the numpad (eg fly heli in GTA V). As such, the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 which HWZ features has also included it as part of their image and to cater to gamer's needs. From the image can see that the keys are pretty large, similar to those that of a regular desktop keyboard.

Also, the backlit keyboard is a must have for all gamers. The 4k UHD touchscreen is added bonus. Maybe can use to play your android games using emulator.

I will prefer a laptop with full-size keyboard, mainly because my work need to key in lot of numbers.

So the only option left is Inspiron 15 7000, so if possible will try to get FHD model. :)

for classrooms to be equipped with Dell Inspiron 15 7000 is unnecessary and wasting school budget. do students really need that good laptop?

if schools were to get Dell Inspiron 15 7000, they might as well get Dell Inspiron 24 7000 with Intel RealSense 3D Camera where the school can teach some educational values through the use of hand motions games or programs.

not only is it interesting for students to experience controlling the game with their hand motions, the Intel RealSense 3D Camera can also be used in some school projects like building mini robots etc.

btw 4K applications can be used in auditoriums, airports control rooms, broadcasting, retails etc.

Just get to know we can get an Intel RealSense developer camera aka F200, F200 is not a consumer-grade device and mainly for software development, so may experience some compatibility issues. At lease next time I can get this to try Windows Hello features. :D
