So Dell will replace your drenched spoilt parts for free without any word with this accidental damage coverage?

Yea, it is around $300+- for 3 year accidental damage coverage based on Inspiron 15 7000 model.

This is what one of bro here mentioned, but can only claim one accidental damage per 1 calendar year, with no question will be asked..:)

other cons are there is no Intel RealSense 3D camera and you can't use Windows 10 Hello. probably Dell Inspiron 24 7000 with an upgraded graphics card would make a better computer system.

But Inspirion 24 7000 is an AIO, 15 7000 is a laptop. Not fair to compare.

For Dell Inspiron 15 7000 series 4K screen laptop think the pro & cons as per below

Pro:
spec high enough to play game released in 2015 without any problem
stylish design for the laptop
audio good enough

Cons:
No Optical Drive
more bulky compare to 14inch laptop?
battery life?

Still have low capacity SSD and low amount of RAM. Can those be increased in the Inspirion 15 7000?

Hannor Dell should consider providing more variety choices for Inspiron series and optional choices like with Realsense Camera or not. Consumers love to be pampered here :s22:

I rmb last time Dell is highly customizable, can add this and that huan :o

Now Dell is less customizable?
They should allow more options for the Inspirion 15 7000 and 24 7000.

oohh so still need to add on 300+ for Dell Inspiron 15 7000 in order to get Pro support with acccidental damage cover :o

Is the Pro support with accidental damage cover worth it for the Dell Inspirion 15 7000 ?

I would say yes. Dell Inspiron 15 7000 is too powerful and high performance for your requirements. Surface Pro is a good and popular choice. Some manufacturers do have android(touchscreen) and ultrabook in one, so you can consider that too.

not really. So many student can afford Macbook. This means that their parents are loaded. :s22:

Since price is not of a concern, its the features which are of greater importance. Like you mentioned, long battery life is definitely a must have for students. SSD is mainly for the speed. Portability is also a major factor as seen from Macbooks and Ultrabook which students are using.

This means that the Dell Inspirion 15 7000 is definitely not the choice for regular students who dont require gaming and powerful performance. The weight should put them off since it is considerably much heavier than ultrabooks.

Thanks for the suggestion, anyway used with Windows OS. Will consider Surface Pro else will go for Dell Inspiron 15 7000, if FHD option will be even better.:)

There's always loans and grants for the needy :)

If they do though, many would opt mac over Dell Inspirion 15 7000 or Dell Inspirion 24 7000...

This is Dell ProSupport 3 years coverage for Dell Inspiron 15 7000 which extracted from Dell. :s8:

2yyb3iw.png

I think 4 year abit too long. Maybe 3 @SGD$287.83 is OK.

My Asus has onsite service just no accidental coverage. Needed to outsource that. So those buy Dell Inspirion 15 7000 and Dell Inspirion 24 7000 or any Dell stuff should take note for that.

I wonder if its possible for the 4k UHD Touchscreen such as the one installed in the Dell Inspirion 15 7000 to use a 1080p resolution when its not required. Means can toggle inbetween different resolutions.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has this technology in place to help preserve long battery life. The 4k screen is only used when watching media.

It will be a plus point if Dell Inspiron 15 7000 4K UHD touchscreen have this feature.

Use software to activate?

I also no need for an ODD for my laptop. Does the normal Dell Inspiron 15 7000 comes with ODD if yes, can remove?

afaik, no OOD due to its slim factor, it helps in cut down the weight of Dell Inspiron 15 7000. Maybe this is also one of reason why Dell did not include Intel RealSense 3D camera.

Nowadays how often people will need to use ODD..

I thought we can mod it in the Dell Inspirion 15 7000 and Dell Inspirion 24 7000?

Yes Dell inspiron 15 7000 can either replace the stock 2.5" sshd with a full ssd or you can add a m2 ssd. It is done with simple unscrew of the back panel.

As for the 24 7000 aio, the information is unknown fot now.

For the price of the warranty i think is pretty reasonable to get Dell Products. If i get the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 to upgrade from my Dell Vostro 5470 i will top up for additional Warranty too

For me, I will definitely get 3 year Dell ProSupport w/ accidental damage if I buy the Inspiron Dell 15 7000 or Dell Inspiron 24 7000.

Too many bad experience in cracked screen and every repair was $200~300.

personally, i feel that budget is a big factor, especially with students.

I would go for a laptop that has long battery life, has the ability to transform into a tablet, and with a decent CPU (minimum 4th gen i3) and 4GB ram. i wont need a laptop with a dedicated GPU because the integrated graphics in the i3 processor is good enough to run most games (few years old) at low settings eg. dota 2, counter strike. i will instead invest in a desktop for serious gaming. the price of a gaming desktop + a working laptop is lower than a gaming laptop. as a student, i want to be more budget conscience.

i need long battery life because when you are in school, you move around all the time, meaning you will likely be without a power point most of the time. You cant afford your laptop to die out on you. the ability to transform into a tablet will help me if im in a scenario whereby i need to carry the laptop. i cant possibly type on the laptop while carrying it. the i3 processor and 4GB RAM will make sure that work done on it will be smooth without lag.

so main thing im looking out for is: budget -> battery -> processor -> ram.
if got more budget, definitely a SSD instead of HDD. working on it will be even smoother. faster read write etc.

Yes I agree with you.
However, the Dell Inspirion 15 7000 is a little too much to be constantly carrying around. A Dell laptop with a 14" screen or smaller would be better.

This is last time i screenshot the Dell Inspiron 15 7000

Its the same price, but you can opt for the FHD screen instead of the 4k UHD touchscreen. I dont know if this is an error and they have fixed it though.

Previously if you select the 2 other options and try to buy they will show some compatibility error. So now it simply just shows the 4k UHD touchscreen Black.

Those who want to get the red colour better check with them first before proceeding with your order. :o

It should be an error on the Dell website.
Not logical for both 4K UHD and FHD Dell Inspirion 15 7000 laptops to be the same price. Maybe call them if you want the red colour one.

As you all know Dell Inspiron 15 7000 can be packed with the latest hardware like the 6th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ Processor and NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5 with an impressive 4K UHD Touchscreen. It's core design is actually a 2-in-1 laptop/tablet with 360-degree hinge.
inspiron-15-7000-photo-4.jpg

It is also tested to have impressive battery life almost more than double the mainstream laptop available outside. Thus making it perfect to be use outside for doing sales presentation or providing entertainment on the go. :):)

This 2 in 1 variant of the Dell Inspirion 15 7000 looks good for doing presentation. Is it much more expensive than the normal laptop variant of the Inspirion 15 7000?
