I also duno Graphics Amplifier and Dell Alienware laptop can connect up to 4 monitors.

What determines how many monitors can be plugged into, issit so long got enough ports can le?

Processor, Graphics Card are the ones that determine how many monitors you can plugged into. Alienware laptop with Graphics Amplifier are suitable for this.

Didn't know the Graphics Amplifier and Alienware laptop can be connected to 4 monitors. Great for a cockpit view setup for racing games.

Only great if you can find monitors of the same 17.3" size. If not it will look awkward looking big on the corner but small in the front view.

The Alienware Alpha can be used together with Graphics Amplifier?

It cannot use the graphics amplifier, alienware alpha do not have this alien port to connect.

I think is more the price of alienware alpha is too high in singapore when you can get AIO with built in full-hd touch screen monitor for cheaper. This is another product where Dell can refine on future revisions.

As said you won't get proper game playable graphics card inside the AIO. This one has a totally different target audience and usage compared to the AIOs. Alienware Alpha is more catered towards PS4/XB1 defectors....

Would not buy either ones. =:p
The middle model of Alienware alpha is the best one as it still have quad core i5 and $400 cheaper than the top model that has i7 quad core.

PS4/Xbox1 games are more expensive and Alienware alpha sold here needs to drop by $200 across the board to make them more appealing.

I still prefer PC lol. Although a bit tempted to move over to consoles since every new game launch full of bugs since game developers cannot be bothered to prioritize PC gamers and they just release an poorly optimized port from consoles.

Keyboard and mouse still the best way to game for me.. although sometimes using a controller would be much easier in some cases (eg fly aeroplane in game etc) But nowadays Windows support the Xbox One controller so no issue to get one to enjoy the similar gaming experience console gamers have.

So with regards to his question, I suppose I will choose the Alienware Alpha over consoles provided it can give better and more powerful graphic performance compared to consoles.

I didn't read up much on the latest Alienware X51 R3, so finds it rather surprising to include support for their Alienware Graphics Amplifier. I wonder do they really need it since the internal discrete graphics is already user-accessible. Yet the amplifier itself is also bigger than the X51 R3 chassis. There are also availability of mITX oriented mini higher end cards like R9 Nano and GTX 970.

I seriously think having the support is kind of white elephant since buyers will otherwise opt for full fledge PCs if they end up wanting even higher end graphics performance card. This stunt is probably to brainwash buyers into believing that the amplifier actually complements their X51 R3. :s22:

Proper console boxes are much cheaper though. Alienware Alpha is essentially PC + Xbox One out of the box since it already comes with bundled with Xbox One controller. The delay of Steam OS caused such a big bummer for Alpha. Otherwise it could have sold like hotcakes. :(

Hmm I think it does not come with a controller.

As stated on the website, it says that the Xbox controller is optional which i presume you have to purchase separately. Keyboard and mouse are not included as well. I suppose this means you only get the box.

Consoles settings are limited, but for the Alienware Alpha, it is simply just a regular PC squeezed into a small compact console size. This means that you can get better performance and graphic settings compared to consoles when gaming. Sadly, it does not support the Alienware Graphics Amplifier and I would be interested to see how their 2GB graphic card fare against the newest AAA titles in the market now.

Not sure if the new Steam controller can work with this device but should be able to. http://store.steampowered.com/app/353370

Steam is pushing out their games to be played on console together with their Big Picture mode. I can see great potential in this.

Perhaps Dell Alienware should collaborate with Steam to give them discount coupons or some free games to redeem with their purchase of the Alienware Alpha. After all, their Alienware Arena https://na.alienwarearena.com/giveaways has been quite generous in their giveaways :o

The latest fallout4 struggling with performance and bugs on consoles when it used to be console games are plug and play, now we also need to wait for patches..

I will chose alienware alpha provided Dell lower the price across the board by $200, their prices right now is making it easy to ignore them, just my advice for Dell

think better to sell it off cheap..

I have a mobile phone which i hardly use..so took out the battery and left it like that.

after about 1 year when i try to charge, battery died and cannot hold any charge.

battery cannot keep for long one.. if never use for a few years capacity will degrade. you dont want a paperweight right..
