Giving others more things to talk about. I'm just sharing. At least they can consider my advice even though they don't own a XPS 13.

Thats why I bring in things about Office for Education, Onedrive, AV etc.
I'm alright with things that really value-adds, that also doesn't comes along with all laptop models. but those others that are pretty much a standard given are really :s22:

That's why usually we get a separate fan. :s22:

...That's why passively cooled laptops defeat their very purpose :s13:

Look at the Asus UX305 series, Apple MacBook series, for the performance that Core-M chips are giving, these laptops behave like oversized tablets...:s22:

imo la~ nothing offensive neither target at anyone~ all dont shoot @ me :)

if boss admin can dig out past few Rewards event records u can see the people who take part usually the same old people and how many people take part depend on how many "actual" prize not those discount coupon.

I believe at the sponser/merchant point of view you will want more people to take part. As what enenyi mention mirror it at EDMW for more crowds(but also mean you got more work to do).

As for prizes i also agree could spread out and more prizes(you want more ppl to take part you need more actual prize unless the discount coupon really super good)

for example instead of having 1x XPS 13 you can ask the merchant to sponser 10x 1TB hard disk(base on same SRP value) in such way you can have another 9people to take part(stick to your policy of 1 person redeem one but how you prevent clone account from getting is another issue)

Even without top big prize Ohayo! MoneyFace =p wadsad and rest of us will still join but you get a bigger crowd~ with a small pool of prizes but at high prize the amount of people join will be limited since no chance getting any actual prize people wont join(reflected in this event). you can compare the crowd with previous samsung memory card event~ 64gb microsd as top prize yet many join too :)

Depend how big crowd you want to join if you want 50pax to join you need 45-50prizes :)

Or you can even give out top 3 prizes from lucky draw(whether will lure more people have to test out) while the smaller prizes at lesser value but with more prizes for redeem purpose. for example 10pts redeem one lucky draw chance.

As for the bonus point, i think you dont need combine together one shot at a fix date/time to give out to all~ give out as and when you like afterall is admin decision to give out :)

For XPS13, what do you think about the cooling system?

Based on experience, boss is always worried that thin notebooks have a tendency to overheat.

I don't own the XPS 13 so I will refrain from making assumptions. Based on online reviews, I can see that the opinions are pretty mixed. Some people say that it's too hot but some people say that it's fine. I guess this is a matter of preference similar to how people have different pain thresholds. But since it is not passively cooled and only has intel HD, my best guess would be that the Dell XPS 13 will run cool

:o

Edit:Sorry if I made any spelling errors. Autocorrect by phone haha

As in passive cooling (fanless cooling) or active cooling for thin notebooks?

The best example of thermal throttling is the recently-launched MacBook using the Core-M processor and passively cooled.
Seriously Core m is a POS. Even read before article that the lower end broadwell 5Y10 model is able to surpass higher end 5Y71 from performance throttling due to overheating on the higher end model. :s22:

Anandtech did an investigation on it too:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/9117/analyzing-intel-core-m-performance

I still believe it is a super long way before x86 gets energy-efficient enough on the lower, lighter scale as comparable with ARM...

Core m is simply marketed to fool oblivious buyers into thinking they can really match and replace ARM...

I believe because different people are having different usages, so thermal requirements can vary much. Light users may only use it for just word processing, watch videos, surf web, whereas others may want to heavy multitask like those stock market analysts, or media professionals who needs the ultra high resolution screen for editing photos that requires heavy processing power.

Either or, i don't think XPS is a flawed product, in heating aspect, since we also don't see major product recall for their XPS line.

Yeah they can block sticky element if they want. Let me add to your suggestion. Put it in a separate colour like how the promoted thread are to grab attention. Because actually nobody reads the announcement and sticky threads haha

That's why usually we get a separate fan. :s22:
Then again, standalone cooling fan available on the market hardly pulls in enough airflow or static pressure to cool the laptop base adequately (sic CoolerMaster) :s22:
I rather relying on the proper laptop cooling fan inside.

I use Adblock but it doesn't auto block out the rewards campaign popup nor sticky thread by default. It's up to user's discretion to block out themselves...

And adding a separate cooling fan defeats the purpose of removing the internal fan to reduce chassis thickness. And 1 more point of failure...

More people joined in the Samsung microSD card campaign last time mainly due to it being the very first ever campaign. Nobody knew how the system worked back then. Everyone just kept on discussing obliviously. I remember having a laugh at the comments from inital part of that event.

Actually i really find it a good exercise to force myself to learn more out of a product. For this XPS 13 i can really learn the pros and cons and inform my brother-in-law shall he really be considering it. :)

after that all rewards events are similar~ amount of actual prize ratio to how many ppl really take part :)

if next contest only got 3 big prizes only the crowd even lesser compare to contest have 20 small prizes even though both set of prizes SRP same or small prizes total SRP lesser~ hard truth you want ppl contribute you need motivation(prize) :)
