Yes Dell Inspirion 15 7000 is targeted at gamers who need power gaming performance, a bigger screen but would not mind a heavier laptop.

Dell Inspirion 15 7000 is a 15 inch display laptop which I don't think is consider big screen.

get an intel realsense camera with Dell Inspiron 15 7000 instead~ :s22:

I don't think there is an option to add Intel® RealSense™ 3D Camera for Dell Inspiron 15 7000. If one prefer to have the Intel® RealSense™ 3D Camera, then one would have to opt for Dell Inspiron 24 7000 and you can also use Windows 10 Hello.

either bigger screen or less bulky choose one

if Dell Inspiron 15 series too big for you you can opt for Dell Inspiron 14 series~ 14inch screen yet less bulky for you to bring out yet you still have good specification laptop but remember if you plan to bring out on the go often better pay extra for accidental damage warranty just in case u carry half way and the laptop drop onto floor and break at least got cover

If Dell Inspiron 15 series is big then one would have to opt for notebook from other brands. The smallest screen for Dell is 11 inches.

Nowadays kids start off with both laptops and gaming consoles.....
Jin rich and envy... :(

they also have iPhone...smart phones and other expensive devices...

well they dont pay for the bills incurred such as exceeding data usage... Some parents just paid when bills came without asking about why such high bills...:s22::(

How much older then we can get such devices in the past? :s22::(

that why that series is for business rugged usage. some factory due to higher temperature/harsh condition unable to use normal laptop have to buy such rugged device. Dell rival is Panasonic toughbook

so which one better built in quality against the environment conditions?

Dell VS Panasonic:s12::D

I have a 4K TV at 55 inch. I still cant tell the difference unless i compared it with a FHD TV. The distance between my place of viewing and the TV is not that far off either.

The Dell Inspiron 15 7000 4K screen can tell difference without comparing with a FHD laptop side by side meh?

Will HWZ by doing a comparison in this aspect for us to see the difference or challenge ourselves if we really need the upgrade to a 4K?

This 4K technology just like fashion, it was like a trend where 'in' item that drive people to buy it, so people ask about it, can be haolian a bit...

Of coz 4K screen can give us clearer pictures and more details but these all really not a matter for normal watching...

normal users of Dell Inspiron 15 7000 4K UHD touch screen can't really tell the difference between 4K and regular 1080p one.

furthermore if the users are using normal 1080p content upscaled instead of pure 4K content, then it is a waste. also the distance at which the user sit from the screen affect whether he/she will notice the 4K resolution.

it is better for 4K to be on a tv instead of 15-17" laptop screen. another option would be to have 4K screen on AIO system like Dell Inspiron 24 7000 with bigger screen say 30".

if the tv can have Intel RealSense 3D Camera, then we can control the tv using our hand motions. maybe Dell can make 4K tv with the Intel Camera.

For me, FHD is good enough for normal daily use, we really not able to notice the different between FHD vs 4K UHD in such 17~15 monitor screen.

Choose what we really need otherwise it will be a waste for not utilize the feature.

Currently there is not option for Inspiron 15 7000to include Intel RealSense 3D Camera Technology, perhaps Dell will launch this model in near future.

Portability is a main concern, so most likely may choose Inspiron 15 7000 over Inspiron 24 7000, it will be good if Dell able to include Intel® RealSense™ so that we can experience Windows 10 Hello, not now but may be in near future.

Btw is there any expiry date for the given voucher from this contest?

Ask you guys arh... if you all are still students and you need a laptop for not just school but gaming too, what kind of specs will you all give priority to or would prefer in your laptop? :s11:

personally, i feel that budget is a big factor, especially with students.

I would go for a laptop that has long battery life, has the ability to transform into a tablet, and with a decent CPU (minimum 4th gen i3) and 4GB ram. i wont need a laptop with a dedicated GPU because the integrated graphics in the i3 processor is good enough to run most games (few years old) at low settings eg. dota 2, counter strike. i will instead invest in a desktop for serious gaming. the price of a gaming desktop + a working laptop is lower than a gaming laptop. as a student, i want to be more budget conscience.

i need long battery life because when you are in school, you move around all the time, meaning you will likely be without a power point most of the time. You cant afford your laptop to die out on you. the ability to transform into a tablet will help me if im in a scenario whereby i need to carry the laptop. i cant possibly type on the laptop while carrying it. the i3 processor and 4GB RAM will make sure that work done on it will be smooth without lag.

so main thing im looking out for is: budget -> battery -> processor -> ram.
if got more budget, definitely a SSD instead of HDD. working on it will be even smoother. faster read write etc.

Not really a problem for me to bring it back to malaysia in case need to service....

I just cant find any reason to get i7 and 4k display over i5 plus fhd....you even lose battery life with 4k and also worse gaming perf with little to no difference in image quality (especially since this laptop's screen is pretty bad according to user reviews )

Does the Dell Inspirion 15 7000 come with an optical drive ?
The optical drive can be swapped for a HDD caddy for another HDD/SSD for more storage space in addition to the 1TB 5400rpm SATA Hybrid HDD.

no it does not come with a optical drive.

i feel thats the right move because the use of disk is not really very common now. most ppl are using USB and SD cards. not having the optical drive will help make the laptop lighter, which i believe thats what dell is trying to do, to mitigate the size of the laptop. 15" laptop are not light.

You can see dell reinforcing this idea with the SSD M2 slot. by using SSD M2 instead of the full size 2.5" SSD, more weight can be cut off.

i have had 15" laptops in the past, and carrying it around is no joke.

Same here, I will go for budget -> battery -> processor -> storage either 7200rpm HDD or SSD..got 2 teenagers at home, a bit tight on budget..;)

Not saying SSD not good, knowing it is lighter and more stable than conventional HDD, but we are able to get bigger capacity for HDD over SSD based on the same price, people tend to choose HDD when price and storage concern arise. ..=:p

yes, but want to test it out first and see what games and apps they have for it now.

Do we really need specific games to test Intel RealSense 3D Camera and Window 10 Hello for Dell Inspiron 24 7000 ?! :s11:
