Thats actually quite long battery life by my standards. i7 more powerful performance but also suck more battery juice. But thats on paper for the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 right?

Must do test with gaming and watching media to see real world numbers.

Agreed with this, any battery life that more 8 hours consider good already but I wonder when Dell Inspiron 15 7000 on full run, how long the battery will last?!

so we have a gaming laptop vs desktop topic this week?

I think the main reason why people choose laptop is because of its portability. personally, i cant do without a laptop/ tablet. i often need to meet my clients at their offices and public places eg. cafes for presentations and ad hoc support. you can never carry a desktop around.

But I feel its different when it comes to gaming. I will never buy a gaming laptop because the price is generally 50% or more higher than a desktop of equivalent specs. Im and willing to sacrifice portability for cheaper price to a certain extent.

A gaming laptop is usually more for users who are never at a place for long. eg. students staying in hostels, working adults who need to travel frequently. I feel that people like me, wont need one, because the time i spent outside is usually for work or school. So it wont make sense for me to spend so much on a gaming laptop which I cant do justice to.

maybe Dell was discouraging consumers to get FHD for Dell Inspiron 15 7000 or Dell Inspiron 24 7000, since they had already assembled the laptop with 4K UHD touchscreen in China, Malaysia may just a warehouse storage for Asean market.

having FHD screen may had to special order made from China factory.

If that is the case why this FHD model is available in Malaysia ?! My thinking is maybe they still haven’t decide the listing price for Singapore market.

the same can be said for AIO system? if yes then time to hoot Dell Inspiron 24 7000 with Intel RealSense 3D camera.

Both can be DIY~ Dell is not Apple~ Apple die die dont let u DIY their stuff but Dell is the opposite they even teach u how to open up their stuff

Inspiron 24 7000 series ram is just screw away from replace/upgrade while the rest of the parts u need to remove the base cover

i concur to this. If the Inspiron 24 7000 cannot upgrade then.. the specs are really questionable imo. The bundled 5400RPM hdd really doesn't do any justice

For dell computer sure got way to diy upgrade parts unless the parts soldered on

What you can do with Inspiron 24 7000 you can do it on alienware

The way dell design their laptop include ease to do replace/repair as their service staff are outsourced. With the ease to do replace/repair the downtime the customer need to wait also shorter~ imagine your Inspiron 24 7000 ram faulty the service staff just spend 5mins to change a new ram for u and the system back to normal

Alienware 17 R3 is a laptop while Alpha is desktop for pc games that works like a game console and customised to play steam ones. basically a steam machine.

the sales staff can demo it. need not necessary be me. only need to see how good it is and how it works.

I would go for laptop as Alienware R3 laptop seems nice. Alienware R3 laptop is i7 has 17.3 inch UHD IGZO IPS Anti-Glare 400-nits display screen and best of all GTX 980M.
Also it comes with Creative Sound Core3D-EX Audio with Creative Soundblaster Pro Studio Software. There is Alienware Graphics Amplifier which is very suitable for gaming as it pushes the frame rates up.
The performance is much better than Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming laptop and perfect for gaming.

Wow..this Dell Alienware 17 R3 is way to big for me, it like more for gamer, sure will eat lots battery with using GTX 980M, weight around 3.78kgs..
