Thanks guys... just collected the Dell Bluetooth speaker at Dell Exclusive Store at Funan Centre #03-26 today. Looks good. Thanks Dell and HWZ! :):)

Gaiason, did you test the speaker and how is the sound quality? Thinking of getting instead of DPC...:D

Re-watched the video on my PC monitor and i caught the Dell XPS13 sneakily acting as a ultra-bright photo frame
wmAb.jpg

This is to show the infinity QHD+ screen of XPS13 is so ultra-bright and ultra-contrasty that it comes off looking better than the real photo frame under video conditions?

As tested by notebookcheck, look at the 2000:1 contrast with deep black levels

A list of ppi screen density so pixel edges are less visible to naked eye

Dell XPS13 QHD+ has 272ppi

Dell XPS13 FHD has 165ppi (this should have even longer battery life from same 56whr battery as the QHD+ version)

Apple Macbook Pro 13 has 227ppi (honestly i feel this Macbook offers better value than Dell XPS13, sorry boss!)

Typical 27" monitor only 109ppi :s22:

Seems like the Dell XPS 13 does not come with an ethernet port. This may be a problem to some professionals as their workplaces only grant them LAN access to their company network through LAN cables.

Although most people use high speed Wifi encrypted connections when available, some companies still stick to the traditional cables as Wifi wireless signals can still be intercepted.

In my opinion, Dell should have considered this possibility and include a ethernet port to cater to such professionals which form part of the market they have targeted.

Just an update. No stock of the 24" monitor at the redemption centre. The staff is taking down particulars and will deliver the item direct to me.

The rest might want to give a call before going down for collection.

I think ultrabooks all don't have ethernet port? Even Microsoft Surface no ethernet ports. My Acer Switch 11 also don't have. End up I buy a USB to ethernet adapter.

Don't worry... They have a dongle for that! :s22:

And they are telling you, if you want LAN, pay more for this. :s22:

Honestly speaking, i will rather buy a cheap USB 3.0 based Gigabit LAN adapter from eBay to resolve than to fall for Dell's Joverchewist trap. I believe the omitting of LAN port is by design, in order to achieve the ultrabook's slim profile since LAN port takes up a hefty amount of thickness. Then again, they could have copy other brand's ultrabook design with such kind of enlargeable LAN port with flap.

Yeah ultra books have to be slim by design choice, getting rid of lan port also save some internal space without need of hardware Ethernet. This space can be used to put bigger battery or better cooling.

Moreover ultrabook are meant to be on the move, to tap into wireless signals, perhaps it is better future revision will include a sim card slot?

I saw the inside of xps13 and it packed to the brim, something you don't want to take open
