The battery indicator has been a very useful and practical initiative that is unseen from other laptop makers. However, by placing both the button and the LED indicator by the side, users have to either tilt head towards the side or tilt the laptop up to see the battery level well. Some users may find this troublesome to keep tilting head or laptop to be able to view the LED. I AM ONE OF THEM. I will suggest Dell to relocate the button and LED indicator to the front edge of the keyboard base like the one below just like my old Sony VAIO CR. So anyone can see the battery level upfront without needing to lift up screen to view from OS.

Not for me.

I prefer it by the side. For people who use a laptop sleeve or bag, they would appreciate it greatly. All you have to do is just place your Dell XPS 13 facing by its side upwards and you can just push the button to check the battery. If you put it on the front, that means you still have to open up the laptop to check the indicator :s22:

You use your laptop when its opened up so technically there isnt any much point to putting it on the front because you can simply check the battery level from Window taskbar.

Xps13 is so thin and light, but made of durable metal, I thought of I can bring it out when going holidays. Which in normal cases I won't. I can now slip one into my luggage or backpack without a fuss and can use in plane or hotel room to photo edit and not limited to my smartphone.

Ya sia :s13:

Can photoshop immediately, ready for Facebook and Instagram on the go. :s13:

First of all, i would like to make a big shout out to HWZ and Dell for organising this campaign! Thanks for the Alienware Alpha!

Through this 4 weeks, it had made me learn extensively and in-depth about your products and also made me think better critically throughout the discussions with fellow members. Now with more familiarised knowledge about these Intel, Dell and Alienware products, i can take this bagful of knowledge and disseminate to my relatives and friends who may be interested in getting them and make them understand the pros and cons better.

I will also like to relay my gratitude to Ohayo!, who gave me precious guidance with my posts to get me where i am now. Despite raising the issue for fairer competition, i truly believe you deserve your 2nd stint at the top, with all your informative and insightful posts. Cheers on your Dell XPS 13! :):s12:

And last of all, throughout the discussion period there are definitely some ups and downs. I hope everyone whom i have affected, or others whom affected me, don't take it too hard and don't think too much. Admin's decision about some of the things here are already final. So no point pondering over them. And i think so far there hasn't been any unfair treatment. I am trying to let it go, and hope you guys are able too.

Shall see you guys again at the next Rewards campaign! Hope to win the top 1st prize next time! If i win, shall leave that to the rest on future campaigns! Promise! ;)

I think only kimsix going to redeem discount voucher for XPS 15 while DBS no owner.

Managed to try the Inspiron 15 7000 7559 at Best Denki, overall not bad sia...

I would also like to relay my gratitude to you. I have learnt quite a lot from you during the whole Dell XPS 13 campaign.

With regards to bonus points.. I think you have figured out what admin look out for since you had the 45 point boost which shocked everyone including myself. :s12:

I won't say much about how to earn them, but like I have mentioned before, my posts are free for all, I don't delete or edit them to "hide" things (in previous campaigns, people got penalized & points deducted). Just follow boss advice won't go wrong. Boss has been really helpful to point the thread and help us along to gain bonus points.

I don't really understand the culture of HWC since I do not frequent here as much as EDMW but I take every single of the posts in this thread seriously. I mean, its not like in EDMW where you can tell that the poster is joking through his posts.

Haha okay. I went Challenger just now to look at the Dell XPS 13. Realised that the $1799 is the 1080p version.

QHD+ version is $2.1k

XPS 15 even more expensive.

I believe XPS 17 won't make its way here as it is rather big size. Through many laptop-oriented review sites, such 15.6" form factor notebook are much better received in AMDK regions where their people are generally bigger in size and have preference for that. Meanwhile, Asians prefer 13.3-14" better. I really wanna see XPS 14 in a 13.3" notebook form factor as i find it the ideal size for me having carried many notebook of different sizes...

My Intel HD Graphics 4000 still CMI for madVR. Perhaps Iris Pro can handle mid level rendering. Which discrete graphics model is that on your laptop? 1080p madVR rendering on highest setting requires graphics chip of GTX 650 equivalence.

Just for the rest, for knowledge, MadVR is a video renderer used with MPC-HC (Media Player Classic - Home Cinema) which is a video player similar to video players like VLC.

Cant remember but i think it was a ATI Mobility™ Radeon® HD 5470. It's a very old notebook probably about 4 yrs back. Its able to run 720p with occasional frame drops, but not at the highest setting; probably mid level. 1080p + FLAC will cause the whole notebook to hang and bluescreen eventually :s13:

Hopefully the Dell XPS 13 can at least play 720p videos smoothly.

Under 'REWARDS', please refer to Profile --> Activities.

It showed when you gained/ earned points, from there more of less you can estimate your reset timing..

XPS15 is a nice work laptop suitable for my needs, just enough power and lightness, and looking modern amenities such as uhd touch screen, a good time to upgrade with $400 savings. :D
