Haha the smart ladies will be sporting a casio selfie camera if they want the best selfie.

True true. But my guess is that people are not confident with making the change. They only have Samsung and Apple in their mind when choosing phones.

Then they are not exercising their consumer freedom and constraining themselves to crap.

I'm an ex-S3 and current S4 user. I chose Samsung last time mainly because of the hardware button for easy frequent waking up of the phone when it's on the desk, rather than looking for the power button on the side. But now with Knock code wake-up and such, I told my colleagues that my next phone may not neccesarily be another Samsung anymore. But those people mostly responded "Oh?" like it's strange not to choose a Samsung nowadays... :(

For colour accuracy, I always find the Super AMOLED way too saturated. I use the Movie mode for the duller colour which looks fine for me. And I find so many people never actually change the setting since day 1 and they call that over saturated colour 'very nice'... :(

As for screen brightness, I use 20% setting on S4 for indoor while my wife use 100% on her S3. >.< So, to each his/her own...

I'm eyeing on the G3 but it's still too new and 'expensive'. Let's see.

S5 is a failure and everyone with some tech knowledge knows that. Didnt they fire the guy who designed the phone?

Hmm... I was a Sammy fan for s2 & 3 because they are revolutionary for android. But ever since, I hate sammy phone due to the over priced lazy innovations and the philosophy of having tons of half baked bloat utilities
R&D funds are all pooled to marketing imo.

But to say that it is a failure? I think that is far from being true.

The designer is surely following company directives so he/she will definitely not be fired. (Even if they did. They probably find a scapegoat whom they are going to fire anyway for marketing's sake).
Samsung probably knows the trend but too many corporate elements are in play before they will do a reboot.

Regardless, the galaxies are still selling like hot cakes.
All the uncles & aunties who remotely care about a phone only know sammy or iphones XD

Only way for something drastic to happen is to reflect on sales but that is propably not going to happening anytime soon.

Meanwhile, LG is going towards the right direction to ace on some aspect, is that, screen to hardware ratio and camera (imo), keep it up!

Samsung just released its Galaxy S5 Prime (LTE-A) phone with 805 chip and QHD display (Galaxy S5 Prime vs Galaxy S5: Everyone Just Chill Out - YouTube), 2 months after the S5 is released in the US.

The battery performance is identical with the 1080p counter part, in no small part, due to its better chip and GPU.

With all due respect for early adopters of LG G3 and for the sake of all those still undecided on the current version of LG G3, lets hope that LG will release their prime version too.

I'm quite certain they will release it. But whether it's for international market or Korea only, that's still a question. Nevertheless, the current G3 is still good enough, although the 805 will definitely be better.

I'm just got the G3 over the weekend and I must say it is pretty good. I'm a Samsung user (I owned Galaxy S, S2, Tab, 7.7, Note, Note 2) and I feel LG has done a great job on their phones, especially the Nexus series and G series phones. Got my wife the G Pro last year and it is very good. The G3 feels good in the hand and definitely better built than the S5. A lot of people have been saying the battery life isn't good, but I find it to be pretty ok, lasting a day or two without any issues for my usage. So I'm happy with the set so far. :)

Samsung deserve credit for what they did. In an era where iPhone was way too dominant only Samsung stood up to the fight and they did take quite a lot of beating before they finally came up with the game changer galaxy s1 and s2 and note1. Imo they deserve the credit. They paved the way for other phone makers who later adopted and concentrated on android like HTC and quite recently Sony and LG. All these brands also recently only produced respectable flagships like HTC one, Sony Z1, and G2.

Samsung is now the New Apple and the rest are all struggling for a bigger piece of the pie. LG G3 so far seems to me the most impressive phone of all androids so far. Lightweight, extremely slim due to curved back which also makes it very comfortable to hold. 5.5inch screen in a typical 5inch body. The past year has been very exciting for all the Droids with even more phone makers coming in and big falling brands pushing their own limits just to survive. Just enjoy whatever phone you have. Not happy just sell and buy another :)

Oh no. I must be one of the few users who really have no issues with this G3. I find the phone as fast as my G Pro 2. Only because I take out my specs to see the screen it is extremely sharp.

The camera is great. I guess I don't use my phone for gaming so no real issues. It's fine for most things.

No regrets dumping you Z2, it was my pleasure ;-)

Guess i am in the same user group as u, not really for gaming.

So far no complains for this phone

Frankly, if one wanna use the phone for gaming, the LG G Pro 2 would has been the wiser choice for its huge 5.9" native 1080p display which is optimised for most games now as well as its proven solubility in OS stability and high performance with a good battery life! :s22:

regardless, your comment was misogynistic and rude to women.

what do men know about electronics? just because a phone has the top-of-the-shelf specs doesn't make it the best either. all the flagships of H1 2014 has almost the same processor, similar RAM etc.

what does a company need to differentiate its product? how does it find its USP? a technical USP (like the G3's laser autofocus, for example) may and is clearly not enough for the mass market where consumers (of any gender) care less about the specs and more on how much they know (awareness) and trust the brand.
