I tried removing Facebook but don't see any difference, maybe cause I no notification and no syncing in Facebook. Tried metal but it seems to download less news and need to download again after around 6 news feed.

:D maybe not that.

Well, there is still lots to be seen as it takes time to know
the truth that nothing is permanent.

Why? Simply because human minds will always keep on
progressing and always want to find ways to dethrone the
king. So it is still possible that the current popular messaging
app can be removed and replaced by another that has more
advantages and usefulness.

Do some research to find out, it is already there for you
a year ago. :s13:

Drop FB and Metal to get rid of your frustration.
Disable apps that you don't use often if you really need
more speed. Uninstall as much apps as you can and
remember being greedy is one of our weakness.

I get what you mean :s13:

Just that it's counter intuitive and productive if everyone's on whatsapp and me on telegram and what not.

Infact I am a Google hangouts sort of person.. and hey! it's one of the first few seamless messaging platforms (until whatsapp web came out).

Brilliant, in similar scenario everyone is hanging out with a Nokia
until Apple and Samsung came to claim the throne but it
took them a few years to remain stable because of its
unique strength in areas of usefulness with the two new
platform.

They remain there and keep getting ahead while Nokia
has no answer but to give up and surrender.

Google tried to buy over Whatsapp after knowing they have
no way to catch up but unfortunately FB uses the monetary
power to get things in their favour.

Likewise it will take time for the new boy to be known and
to prove that they are equally just as good and maybe
even better in many areas.

Currently the new boy proved that what has to be thrashed
is in the bin so that it won't take up or cluster the valuable
space on your phone and speeding things up quite a bit.

No, FB Messenger also. Both apps are the same sort.

Actually why Facebook is rated as the number 1 power consuming app, could be because we are constantly poking the app to "kay-po" about friends.

If you dont poke it often, i dont see it consuming much power. In fact based on my usage patterns, I see Whatsapp as the battery killer more than Facebook.

My 2 cents worth.

For my case, I use Whatsapp much much more than Facebook and Messenger but Whatsapp always shows only a few % in the battery usage list. It's the coding of Facebook/Messenger app and how they work in the background.

I also noticed one thing - whenever those 2 apps have updates, the time they take to install is abnormally long compare to other even much larger apps. Abnormal in the sense of, I just feel they're different. You can try monitor in the next update and compare with other apps see how they install...

- Set wallpaper pure Black
- Remove all those haptic feedback (e.g. Swing phone to the ear to pick up call nonsense)
- Switch off NFC
- Remove widgets (e.g. world clocks, weather forecast of countries)

The battery improved for me.

Points 2, 3, 4 are default for my every phone. They're the basic.

kena the constant rebooting issue since yesterday. unless plugged to wall power / powerbank, the phone will not start up at all.

read that changing to a new battery solves the issue.

other than the service centre, anyone knows where to get the original battery? does harvey norman or challenger sells it?

Don't believe that Harvey Norman / Challenger carries batteries for the G3.
Your friendly neighbor hood mobile phone shop may carry G3 batteries but authenticity is not guaranteed.
