I just bought my G3 after comparing with S5. Really smooth and nice looking. Too bad I can't trade in my old s3 lte....

Go read a few more reviews. Most are complementing the screen. The screen resolution is 1 main reason I bought the G3. It is brighter than the Note 3 for sure. Battery life to be tested but again, most reviews are singing praises on the battery life.

I heard both good and bad reviews, but most conclude that the phone gets hot after extensive use (eg. gaming), and the screen does but a considerable strain on the thermal output (hence the throttling to 90% brightness when it gets too hot).

The standby time though, I heard was outstanding.

In contrast, the G2 had hands down the best battery life in the previous gen (averaging 1+ days of normal use), but suffers from ugly software, tacky buttons, and lack of removable battery/sd card.

That's why I say, LG got everything right this time round, but really went a step back in terms of their screen (they made it bigger and higher res, but kept the battery size the same..).

Any fellow HWZers tested the battery yet?

I like how LG make the UI so minimalist, like near to stock android.

After an hour intense usage, battery drop 3%. Not bad!

btw for those with magnetic wireless chargers, ie nexus 5 wireless charger, it won't work.

magnets will cause the phone to think its a quick circle case installed instead of charging it

LG G3 got everything right this time, except for the screen..

If only they had a 1080p screen I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Contrast ratio, brightness, and battery life really suffer this time round: LG G3 review: Dream catcher - page 3 - GSMArena.com

Will there be a 1080p variant? lol

Yes the 1080p variant is called G2. :s22:

But seriously.. without having the better screen, why bother releasing it at all? Might as well wait till snapdragon 805 is out then release right?

I believe I gave my input on the battery life test earlier. Battery life is good so far.

Agreed, they should have just waited for the 805 chip before releasing, maybe make their screen a little prettier without increasing the resolution. At the mean time, they should have just upgraded the Optimus UI on the G2.

Well, the G2 would be the perfect phone if it has removable cover, expandable storage, better buttons and a better UI (to be fair the camera of the G3 is also quite an upgrade).

Is the LED only capable of showing red..green and blue? I can't seem to get any other color via 3rd party software.
