battery life is of utmost importance, and its only gonna get more important with each year. Manufacturers still fail to realize that for some weird reason.

A phone is only good when it has battery, no batt = expensive paper-weight.

i would rather a 1080p phone with their batt consumption reduction 3A tech with it lasting 24 hours with 6 hours on screen time then the current qHD.

great review. Really a real life review without much bias. Sad to know batt life not as great as the recent flagships which is kinda expected with its batt specs and high resolution screen.

I am still enjoying my m8 and quite happy with it. I guess as you mentioned, 2k screens are still in infant stage at this point for apps. Probably next year will then be mainstream. Seems only camera is the main advantage over m8. Nevertheless I hope I can like it since I already booked my set with one of the popular shops.

Totally agreed. Why can't they come out with a battery priority version with a 5" 1080p screen with 4000mah batt. I am sure many will buy it without even considering Even if it has a thicker profile.

Every year they all claimed better cpu with better power efficiency but always clocked higher which negate the advantage.

Then they claimed a energy efficient screen but always make it bigger and more resolution and then again negate the advantage.

If they put all the energy efficient technology and stick to lower clocked cpu and sufficiently good 720p screen, it would have been perfect.

These days, the marketing of cpu speed, screen size and resolution are becoming the megapixel war of the past and makes consumers chasing after for no real advantage or usefulness in real world.

i just bypassed Kasia Mobile just now during lunch. they seem to have a KOR variant of G3 there. It's in white. but...in real life, hmmm

May be they wanna keep the design as sleek as possible thus sacrificed a more powerful and bulkier battery as a thicker phone is not so acceptable for majoroty of cunsumers in the current market !)

I remember back when rumors starting circulating about the G3's specifications and there were reports that its thickness was around 10mm, many people here were quick to complain and even say they gonna give the G3 a miss if it was that thick.

Yes, i agree that nowadays the selling point is always more ram, faster processor and better screens while battery tech is simply not catching up. But to simple layman users, all they care about is latest models with the latest specifications and they wont bother about details like whether the hardware is an overkill or whether battery life is compromised. Manufacturers are simply giving what majority of consumers want, the latest and the best. There will never be a perfect model that has the best of all worlds. Users either take some compromises or continue to wait for the phone of their dreams that will never come.

It is always good to have better battery life. But to expect it to last 24 hours with usage may not be realistic. Moreover in these days, you can charge the phones as long as you have a usb cable with you, a laptop, mobile charger, etc. And not to mention some phones like the G3 comes with removable battery.

You are just limiting yourself to use some of the best phones in the world, if you are only looking for battery life. Unless there is a breakthrough, dun expect battery life to last long with all the features in the world.

Very simple. Cos' battery life today is acceptable for most, so this is not the top request. Also there is a technical limitation on battery today.
