Hmm.. it does seems like G4's battery life is considerably worse than my 2 years old G2 in comparison to my standard usage and SOT. Was quite disappointed, no wonder they gave us an additional battery.

think must see what drain the battery

I'm also having battery problems. Drain is mainly from Google Play services.

The phone is generally good in all departments but battery life is horrible. Very painful.

And in case anyone is going to suggest turning off the Location service conserve battery life, I say that's like buying a car, have poor fuel economy, and the advice is to drive it less.

Thanks for sharing. How do you uninstall updates of Google Play Services? I can only disable it at phone settings. The tab for uninstall is greyed out, cannot tab on it at all. Appreciate your advice on this.

I have done 3 battery cycles on both my original G4 batteries. The battery life is appalling to me. I was using Note 4 previously also on 2 original batteries.

First of all, my screen brightness is 55%. I cannot lower it because the picture on my screen will look 'not-as-nice' as compared to Note 4 screen. Note 4 on the other hand, screen brightness is 40%. Same picture I use on both phones. Note 4 one battery with all the same apps and what I use everyday, last me 30 hours. G4 one battery with all the same apps and what I use everyday, last me 18 hours tops.

Secondly, I am not really use to a phone that is hot to touch when I am charging it. After charging the G4 to 100%, I can't even put it to my ears for a call. I don't understand this logic. Airplane mode also so hot. Its just charging ....

Thirdly, both Note 4 and G4 with clash of clans launched at the same time ... which runs hotter first and gets hotter and hotter ? Aiyo !! After that which one gets its battery drained 1st if you are on Clash of Clans too long ? *sigh*

All and all ... I am quite disappointed at the G4. I used the G3 for one week before selling it away because the screen was too dark. G4 is a tad brighter but I cannot lower my screen brightness from 55% and its definitely zapping a lot of my battery life. Yes I have two batteries but if I play Clash of Clans too long ... two batteries ain't gonna be enough.

Funny, my experience with G4 is totally opposite of you. I find that when charging the phone becomes a bit warm but still comfortable enough to make a call. I guess depends on individuals.

I also play COC a lot and the phone never heats up even when I spend a long time looking for enemy base to raid. What surprised me most is that I can charge the phone at full speed while playing games. My old phone would always heat up and say "slow charging".

you will need to go general >security > phone administrator > disable android device manager

re-enable android device manager after reinstall.

My G4 was never heated to such extent before, and it was only mildly warm during charging.

Please make sure:
1. Clear all apps, there might be some that keeps on running for no reason
2. Enough ventilation, air-con room, or fan. Don't put your phone on cushion or sofa when charging.

If still too hot, then I guess there's a new case for the service centre.

Battery life is good for me.

Currently 19h18mins usage on battery.
Estimated time remaining 9h54mins.
41% left.

My usage was roughly like this (quite light usage huh?)
Whatsapp, LINE, Facebook, web surfing
Took pictures (exactly 16), calls (total 14 mins)

I don't need super power battery to be considered good battery life.
I just need it to last 1 day, and G4 does it for me.

For overnight, I would make sure I turn off Location, Bluetooth, NFC, and other rubbish, clear all apps before I sleep.

I had about 5 mins of screen time after I unplugged at 100%.

3% drain during my 8 hours sleep, where I had 28 whatsapp messages, 4 line messages, and 1 normal message, one Facebook notification.

Not too bad.

If the battery level is 70%, charging it to 100%, the phone is warm but if the battery level is 30% and charging it to 100%, the phone is definitely not warm.

Anyway I am not trying to say that the Note 4 is better than the G4 in a LG G4 thread but I did trade in my Note 4 for my G4 and the only phone I can compare my G4 to .. is the Note 4.

And the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 charger I bought from Taobao definitely charges my G4 faster than the original charger that was given in the box. Next time I will timed the charging time. ^^
