Just a side note, it is not only irritating to see
the animating signature of yours, it would indeed
help us to enjoy the discussion at hand more
abundantly and seriously....instead of being disturbed
by the movement of your anime. Thank you in advance.
Sorry for the remark, apologize if it offend you. :)

is it really that big a deal? why hasnt anyone else on this thread remarked about it being irritating or disturbing or making people unable to 'enjoy' the discussion?

i mean the thing here is, Intrinion has been participating in the dialogue here, while you were in the V10 and G Pro 2 thread, you're not even in the same discussion thread, yet out of nowhere still can come here and pass judgement on other people's choice of signature???

Just updated to MM, so far so good. I just hope the firmware improves on the battery life...

My G4 died last year and LG replaced the motherboard. I sold it to a friend very cheaply while praying things will be ok from then. But a few days ago, she told me the phone will automatically shut down every 10 mins or so. And she simply doesn't have the time to go to LG during office hours, I am somewhat obliged to help her bring the problematic handset down. So even after replacing the mobo, it may still give problems.

Did you experience the same thing? As in series 505 motherboard that got replaced by Series 512 motherboard and software updated to MM?

on side note, the issue that i mentioned yesterday where any files created on the SD card by 3rd party apps like camera or file manager is still persisting even after i updated to V20b (its at V20a when you get it back from service centre).

i have a feeling it has something to do with LG's implementation of SD card read access in MM. A PC connected to the phone literally can only see the metadata of the file (eg. name, creation date etc) but the file size reads zero from the PC's file explorer. And only files created by LG's apps are immune to this problem.

Wow. It seems like a serious issue. I hope it will be patched soon. I am still on Lollipop though.

Anyway, if it is a widespread issue even after the mobo change, I am guessing G4 has a deep-rooted manufacturing flaw or really incompetent diagnostic (just change mobo to 'resolve' bootloop death).

Hey no worries, chill guys! :)

Noted on the feedback. Xmas's over and I have been looking at changing it out to something lunar new year themed anyways :)

Let's shake hands and get back to the discussion proper shall we?

Cheers!

so far through daily use of the G4 running on MM i seem to have found one bug regarding SD cards: Whenever the phone creates any new files on the SD card (be it through camera app taking photos or file manager copying files etc), when I plug the phone into the PC and try to view the files, the file is visible, but the size shows 0kb and sure enough the file cant be opened on the PC (it will say file is empty)

If i try to copy the file to my desktop, it's still a 0kb file when copied over.

if i take the SD card out of the phone and insert into my PC, i can see all the files no problem. It's only when the SD card is inside the phone that somehow, all the files created by the phone will show up as 0kb when viewed in the PC.

The stock LG apps (eg. file manager, camera) don't seem to suffer this issue but every 3rd party camera app or file browser that ive tried so far that tries to save photos to SD card, or copy files to SD card, all those files appear as 0kb when viewed on the PC.

If those same 3rd party apps create files on the internal storage, the PC can view them just fine. Its only when they create on the SD card that those created files appear as 0kb

Anyone else experienced a similar problem?

hi,
I did a test today, took a photo (auto saved to microSD card).
When I viewed it on the SD card, it says 5.85 MB file size. I also copy it to my pc (which shows as 6.1 MB), np viewing it (no need to take out SD card).
I am unable to replicate your problem.
Btw, I am on MM V20b & I hv the 200GB microSD card ...hehe...

Hi, were you using stock LG camera app?

My experience was, files made by stock app work ok, everything else doesnt work.

I tested using:
- LG stock camera (take photo save to SD card)
- LG file manager (copy a file to SD card)

- Open camera (take photo save to SD card)
- ProShot (take photo save to SD card)
- Camera FV5 (take photo save to SD card)
- Solid Explorer (copy a file to SD card)
- ES File Explorer (copy a file to SD card)

all the non-stock apps produced files in SD card whose content cant be read from PC (file icon is there but it says 0kb)

The content reading is fine if they produced files in the internal storage rather than the external SD.

I have tried this on 3 PCs and had the same problem, if I can find another SD card i might try it to see if the problem could possibly lie with my SD card.

Oh, I am unsure about that at the moment. Phone is still with her, I'll get it, check and update here again tonight, thanks.

chiaRH,
After u update to MM, did u do FR ?

My MM 'update' was from the motherboard change at the service centre. Is it still advised to factory reset?

I'm still waiting to see if any other MM users have this strange SD card issue

Mine was like that. Heated up easily even while not doing anything and then battery life got worse. Just over half day with light surf and battery flat. One day while surfing it went into reset-boot loop. 505 batch.

one recurring symptom i observed for mine before death was that it would occasionally self-reboot. it's not super frequent (maybe 1-2 times per day) but you'd definitely notice it

Nope. It should be alright if it's from the sv ctr.

Just for future incremental updates - especially major ones like from 5.x.x to 6.x.x, you should do a fr after your upgrade (that's what I would do and have done for most of my phones... i.e. like my previous G3) to ensure that nothing funny is going on or happening during the upgrade process.
