 cannot ask them for a new set?? The failure rates is too damn high to warrant someone to go down 3times

Waste of time is one thing, losing confidence is another thing... :(

They are a hard nut to crack. It would most likely be futile. Good luck.

think im going to revisit the service centre again too. My SD card issue, while not as severe as Plastick's case, is still damn irritating when my PC cant read 3rd-party-created files on SD, which is where most of my data happens to reside especially camera photos.

the fact that even the same issue is observed when i try to view the files on wifi via LG bridge confirms that its not a hardware problem with USB or PC but something with the phone itself.

After LG announced the flaw, I emailed them to ask if I could have the mobo replaced, even though the 505 was working fine. They replied that I could and called me to schedule when I could go in.

Because of CNY etc, wife wanted to sent in tomorrow. I planned to backup then wipe the phone this evening.

Of course, this afternoon, the phone boot looped.

Your phone must have felt totally betrayed thus, the bootloop :s13:

But seriously, thanks for sharing was thinking of doing the same.

had that thought in mind when i visited the centre last sat. fortunately the cso was auto enough to offer immediate replacement of parts and collection on the same day with acceptable waiting time after understanding my case. if there's a 4th hardware fault.... (choy) then will make that request.

i like g4 but the failures very disappointing.

True. Am already considering a china brand phone Jiayu S3+ which is less than SGD$250 and has a host of features that make high end phones shy away. Sold my Xiaomi off now considering the above as backup. Never know when my G4 will perish.

Sent from a coin operated public phone using GAGT

first time hear jiayu brand. i dun like the buttons below cos i prefer back button to b on left side

ever since my mobo replaced the first time due to bootloop, whenever i delete any photos on my sd card via quickpic gallery it keep says restrictions to remove bla bla. problem la...
and then after my sd card slot became faulty i came to realise i have few hundreds of taken photos became 0kb in size. they r corrupted i believe. now spending time attempting n doing recovery. headache la all the time spent on these.

Went to the service centre this morning. Was told 7 working days for replacement. I explained I had contacted LG directly and had arranged the motherboard to be replaced on the 15th with a 1hr wait.

Staff checked in the back n replied ok. I'm waiting for collection now.

So, for others still on 505, recommend you to submit a support request via LGs website. Arrange a call from support, pick a day to have your working 505 mobo replaced on the spot.

Edit: Collected, mobo is 601.
