has anyone else noticed after the MM upgrade, the battery life is pretty bad?
the % drops very fast as compared to the variant before the update.

how can i find out if i am 505/507, has been an LG G4 user for months, so far so good tho!

Remove your phone's battery and look at the sticker behind on the phone. It will show the serial number. If it starts with 505 then you might want to be worried. I was using a 505 motherboard until it died after about 6 months of using the phone.

Yes its bad.

If you use apps like gsam battery monitor you will observe 1 thing called 'logd' that is eating battery.

XDA G4 forum even has a thread how to stop the logd thing but sadly it needs root.

Ive seen a subreddit claiming that v20d-EUR fixes logd battery drain but of course... we here are still stuck on v20c-SEA

I keep getting the permission error to delete files on the microSD card as well. When I tried another app called "Piktures", it is able to delete files without any issue, I guess it could be a quickpic bug..

Yes quickpic is the only app that has that hiccup where it pops up that tooltip message saying about restrictions and cannot modify SD files. However the actual file deletion still carries on as normal.

Ive tried other apps before like pikture and various 3rd party file managers and they can perform file deletions on the SD card with no issue.

However not a single 3rd party app can write to the SD card and have the PC be able to read the file (will show up as 0kb icon)

Strange that this issue hasnt been highlighted on XDA or other places. For a long time I felt like I was the only marshmallow G4 owner on earth who uses 3rd party apps that save data to micro SD.

Another funny thing: if any app (both stock or 3rd party) creates a folder on the SD card, the created date of the folder (if you view it on PC) is 01/01/1970. If you mount a fresh SD card, the root folder's created date is also 01/01/1970. Those of you who have been following the news about iphone will recognise that very familiar date...

505 on V20c now, 60% Android OS usage and 30% drops of battery within 2 hours without doing anything.

of course we didnt.

flashing 3rd party rom or rooting is a pretty niche thing, and it voids warranty. If problem was really caused by such action, none of us would have been able to get the phone serviced under warranty.

Well my phone has just hit the dust while at work. Bootlooping and lagging while that's going on. Time to head to the service center. Do they automatically update the firmware as well don't want MM on my phone.

U won't have a choice all the new board are flashed with mm. What sn was ur phone?

They are asking you a rather stupid question. They can view the root checker and determine themselves. There is even a date if root is performed or su is executed.

So long you don't break any seals if any, there is no way they can tell parts being replaced if the replacement is done well.

Their not recalling is causing inconvenience to G4 users asking them to send their phone down for them to determine if chances of bootlooping is high enough for a logic board replacement. They are trying to reduce the damage (i.e. cost) on their end. I bet they will not commit or warrant those that they pacified user their G4 is not affected;

I think not recalling all affected batches such as 505 is simply bad. It caused users frustrations and confusions...

wah that sux considering that i have created quite a plenty to better organise my photos on my sd card.
for days liao still doing my photo recovery. tedious doing manual picking of photos to recover and then matching the 'time taken' of those pics to the ones of the filename of 0kb photos that i have lost (no way to preview except to use the date and time on the filename to match)

LG G4 bootloop again

ARGH... my LG G4 bootloop again. I sent it in for bootloop before CNY and now it's bootlooping again. So for those that sent in earlier for repairs please be careful. Apparently they may have misidentified the problem and not fixed the issue at all since the problem came back. Lost all confidence in LG. Going to change phone. Good luck to you all.
