Should totally nominate your phone for longest survivor award.

I'm getting worried now that it's approaching the 1 year mark. Besides I've dropped my phone at least 10 times xD would be nice if they change the bezels as there are too many scratches and dent

There's an inherent risk in carrying out that method as condensation might trigger the moisture indicators on the phone thus possibly voiding the warranty altogether.

Maybe you managed to drop the phone so much that the mobo issue got resolved.

Highly likely, as USB/charging port is linked to MB. Get them to check.

But my phone out of warranty already leh. Really quite shite if that's the case. New MB W/O bootloop but WITH charging issues. I had no charging issues on my previous MB.

Hmm able to describe what charging issues bro?:zotto:

If the G4 is like the G2 and G3, there should be a daughter board seperate from the motherboard (but connected none the lest) which contains the micro usb female port.

Like fellow bros mention, do bring it down

Did you keep your repair report or something? Else go there and tell them you have been having intermittent problem with charging after the MB repair, and now it is getting worst.

Tell them to take it in and sort it out.

No repair report. I might have been given an invoice that I've since thrown away.

The phone suffers from lousy connection with the charging cable. Even when fully plugged in I have to adjust the cable intermittently as the slightest movement causes the phone not to be charged.

As my phone is out of warranty already and also because I have no spare and cannot afford the downtime/time taken to travel down to the service centre...

This is something that I unfortunately have to live with.

Why don't you try going on weekend? See if they can fix on the spot?

They should have the records in their system. Screw them if they cannot find it, otherwise they data entry for show?

Even if another kinder cso serve you, the person will pull out the history to check if warranty void before and such. You can try and bet on the replacement board, but its the warranty window that counts for them unless it is the renown boot loop issue.

Could be a variety of factors - such as a dislodged charging port (that's pushed backwards) / charger & cable issues (you can try swapping out to another) / port issues (Kaput port)

(1) and (2) mentioned above should be an easy fix
(3) would require replacement of parts

Just got the bootloop issue.

Saw on youtube one guy say put in freezer - I was thinking WTF ?!

Might nothing to loose so I try - first put in fridge only (not freezer) for 15 mins. Doesn't help.

Then I try freezer for 15 mins.

And it works! My G4 managed to boot up ! :)

Now quickly backing up my data cos I don't think this will permanently solve the problem.

Anyone encountering bootloop and haven't backup, worth giving it a try.

Make sure you put your phone in a zip log bag and wrap around your phone tightly without leaving too many air pockets.

Good Luck !

So I tried Pokemon go on the g4. Got really hot, uncomfortably so. In addition, the GPS signal kept cutting out.

Mine go into bootloop while trying out Pokemon GO :(

Maybe this game too CPU intensive and might trigger the bootloop in your G4 if you never have it - so try with caution.

It heats up most phones considerably - My Galaxy S6 on an otterbox defender, heated up pretty badly as well.

I found that lowering screen brightness helps reduce the temp by a bit.
