any brave soul wanna be guinea pig and test for us whether it finally fix the battery issue of V20C?

for me, what made me avoid mrshmallow V20A (and subsequently even up till V20C) was

- auto brightness being broken, in many cases it keeps dimming to minimum level

- 3rd party apps having restrictions saving data to SD card. Huge problem for camera apps that I use, and even gallery apps like quickpic which give out permission error messages when you try to delete pics on SD card


at the moment I'm on V10f lollipop, not really free at the moment to try V20G

A fresh mobo is akin to a new phone
Since it is the sole component that contains all the other major components (soc, mem, io controller) for the operation of the phone

But it's always nice to replace with a fresh mb it's akin to replacing an engine in a car despite the engine repeatably failing

Rmb to turn off the game optimizer in "Battery and Power Saving mode". However the phone runs really hot after a while.

I believe so. They will probably ask u to bring in ur device for inspection but they will not guarantee a replacement of the motherboard. essentially, u are just having ur phone looked at.

Hmm..any similar suggestions then?
I've been recommended the Nexus 5x but the battery life looks shorter, Oneplus 3 seems good too but costs abit more.

If my memory serves me correctly, there was a forumer in this thread who did that & got permission for a mobo replacement.

Around $300-400, don't mind topping up a little if it's a big improvement.

Most important would be good battery life & a nice camera for candid pics.

I really liked the G2 as it had amazing battery life running on Kitkat and a great camera(at the time), sad how the G3 isn't a huge upgrade while the G4 seems to be plagued with motherboard issues.

Yeah the Redmi Note 3 looks really good on paper, haven't seen much feedback yet though. The only thing users seem to complain about is that they're still stuck on Marshmallow.

Quite alot of feed back from users of the phone.

Performance is good
Battery life is excellent
Camera is mid range - but for the price it is acceptable.

Yeah in terms of battery life, it's tempting! Camera has always been hard to compare for me, as it's not as simple as comparing Megapixels :/
Edit: Seems note 3 camera might be worse than G2's
