It would be too costly to fix it at any 3rd party repair shop - I doubt they have parts for the G4 either.

It is still under warranty, and this phone has not even been released for a year - so all local sets are still under warranty based on its date of manufacture.

I would tell them about this point and to look at it from this angle and perspective. Further more, it is a manufacturing defect that caused such an issue which LG has admitted - http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-admits-g4-bootloop-problem-hardware-fault-669603/

I quite sure singapore 3rd party repair do not have G4 logic board as it is so rare even online. I found only 1 or 2 sites after deep search. They charge 375$ for it if my memory stays.

Maybe the next person who sends his phone for servicing can also complain about this logd process and ask if the technician can load v20d firmware inside :p

battery life is very subjective though, hard to argue about diminished life when theres so many factors like the apps your run, etc.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/remove-rename-logd-root-t3334751
here is one thread that gives a suggestion on logd issue (however it needs bootloader unlock)

about v20d, i heard some regions have it but dunno if SEA is one of them.

H815 SEA v10f KDZ & Rooted v10f system image

MEGA

H81510F_00_0113.kdz MD5: EDB2FFDBCE11498CF852F9634D06FE5E

rootedsystem.img MD5: ADC20EC86B19D66564F02A946ABF5341

Do you constant get a 'Home has stopped working message'?

Happened to me after flashing.

Trying to figure out what went wrong, followed the guide step by step using the .img you provided but that got messed up :s22:

Edit: did a factory reset and works now :)

Finally flashed dpi295's v10f kdz. Full factory reset as per the norm.

Love how one of the first things I see is this notification
4036e0081cfa0ec29c201dc7d26c792d.png

"battery usage improved" ohhh so ironic haha

On another note it looks like i'll have to replace my display after all

in addition to the image retention on status icons, the left and right now have a pinkish cast

Wow really impressive, LG Software developers doesn't even bother to check their own battery usage?? The retarded logd process is still sucking the battery life away.. :s13: I hope they fix it in V20D or later, I won't be holding my breath.

Geesh, you have the same screen issue like mine.. Please go and claim warranty from LG, we should help them to waste their resource and money!

I have an itch to get Xiaomi Mi5 although the camera and non expandable memory is quite a deal-breaker to me..

the mi5's camera isnt that bad. if its DTI implementation really works as intended it could have less image noise on low light even though the aperture and sensor size arent as big as LG/samsung

I think other regions already have 20d?

Meaning the real slowdown is probably getting it greenlit from our carriers (aka getting the carrier bloat in, like singtel menu, etc)

Managed to get xposed onto my G4.

I noticed that for some reason my screen brightness settings don't seem to stick. After leaving the phone there for awhile. It will revert to 100% brightness and u check the adaptive brightness setting /:

the slightly annoying thing now that im on a the v10f SEA version is that it keeps telling me that there's a new update (v20c) and wants me to update.

Ive disabled all the auto check for update settings and I still get that notification. Last resort is clear cache of the 'software update' app in settings and hope it works.
