Anyone whom change the LCD, did they also change the front glass with bezel or just the panel only?

Thanks for the tip, but no worries. I am still using the stock LG charger. :D

LG really needs to work on getting more durable lenses on their cameras, im on my second replacement already and it has this annoying corner nick that causes light sources to have spikes

the benefit that its easy to DIY replace is countered by the downside that the lens itself is so fragile

my 505 g4 finally died. bought it on august last year. can't even power on at all most of the times, unlike normal bootloop people encounter.

im pretty sure its a coating scratch

its annoying as hell in low light shots where every lamp post in the corner turns into a JJ abrams movie lensflare

it just feels like something about the quality of the lens or the coating that LG uses that feels inferior. HTC one M9 i think had a similar issue with the coating being very easy to come off

honestly i feel like buying screen protector just to cut and paste over the lens in future

too bad the service centre surely wont entertain a request for a 'pack' of replacement lens covers cos I can DIY it myself to replace (its quite fast) i honestly would be ok if they just gave me like 5 replacements it'll last me the lifetime of the device.



small update on the new LCD and screen phantom input: I dug out my father's old official S6 adaptive fast charger which offers 2 levels of charge (5V 2A, 9V 1.67A) and it charges with no screen issue.

the valore charger from challenger might not be proper quick charge standard since its 5V 2.1A, though i still find the LCD funny for behaving weird with it especially since my mom's old G3 and new G5 work ok on the valore charger...

hmm, wouldn't pasting a screen protector affect image quality as well?

Had similar issues with my G2 previously - Ar coatings were coming off too easily as well - replaced it myself too - slightly annoying since the G2 requires a plastic tool to get all clips off it's back.

What I did next was try to remove the AR coating from the previous lens cover - did it with tooth paste! :zotto: - this way you can save your costs on getting replacements! :)

any clue where to buy a replacement back cover, leather, orange?
I have not managed to find a shop in town selling it.

thanks, I have seen their website, selling price is quite high (65SGD).
I saw some parts for half the price on aliexpress in the meantime

LG accessories is almost not available, unlike the abundance of apple and samsung accessories. Need to get online.

Its difficult i reckon, seems like LG may not fully diagnosed the faulty hardware thus the reoccurrence. Case will not bring you far imo. Best is associate with the boot loop problem if trying to get service when out of the warranty period. Take advantage of extended warranty in a way.

LG should have tonnes of refurbished logic boards to go around by now unless there is a surge of boot loops.

Anyone got their phone fixed for free without warranty? My g4 was stucked in boot loop previously but have corrosion on the motherboard and lg fixed it for free anyway but they said this will be my last warranty repair. 3 months later boot loop hits again..

Go and demand repair with the lengthy name list with boot loop and reoccurrence. No need to waste time going the soft route. Go hard.
