need some help

I suddenly found that my G4 cannot playback any of the 4K videos I recorded, regardless which app I use to record the video, or which app I use to play the video. Also doesnt matter if the video file is on the phone storage or on the SD card

If the video is 1080p it is still ok. What happens when I try to play a 4k video is the video will freeze while audio continues playing. I pulled out the 4k videos onto my PC to try and play them and there's no problem with the video file, have even tried using stock camera app to record and then playback something in 4K and it has same issue.

interesting issue, try google to see if there's any solution, if there isn't any, go LG service centre.

Found a thread on Xda on it

Perhaps a problem with the video app? Can playback with another player?

I am at work so i cant investigate thoroughly but Google Photos can playback the 4K vids so i dont know, it might be some intermittent issue with some apps.

In any case, with the G4 already having software issues on MM I am hoping I dont have to deal with similar problems on lollipop

H815-SEA 506 batch. So far still going strong with 2mos warranty left. Bootloader unlocked anyway, so don't think can claim warranty if anything happens. #fingerscrossed

my luck has run out, probably cos i jinxed it. i think i kena bootloop (not too sure). my phone suddenly reboot while on call with speaker on, and stuck at LG logo. not sure if it's really a bootloop as it just stuck there, not looping. or is it?

anyway, i check from LG website the repair centre is at alexandra. is that the only one (a bit far as i stay at east area)? does it open tomorrow (sun)?

yes its the only one

no it doesnt open on sundays (you can check their hours on google but on weekdays they close 6pm)

went to NDP rehearsal to try and snag fireworks shots again, this time from the other side of the kallang basin so that its farther away and no need to use wide angle lens:

its really funny being the only guy there with a phone on a tripod when everyone else is packing DSLRs, which reminds me LG kept saying last time the G4 can replace your DSLR, which of course is garbage since a DSLR's sensor will still wipe the floor with any phone on the market. But if you close 1 eye I think the G4 still looks pretty good as a camera performer.

Talk like you know your stuff, use the term bootloop rather than explain what wrong with the phone! I also told them I was from hwz, haha

I went last Saturday (9 July) and they accepted my phone for repair at no charge though it was out of warranty. I had previously sent it in for repair for bootloop in Nov 15, and the service centre guy said as they changed the design of the pcb sometime in Dec/Jan, my repaired phone still had the old pcb.

There is a lack of parts, so they estimated waiting time was 2 weeks. One week has passed by... hopefully it will be ready next week.

Great to hear that, I got the sms to say that I have to wait 2 weeks due to part but one day later I was asked to collect phone.

I just went to the service centre with bootloop issue on my Lg g4 which was encountered this morning. They mentioned to wait for 2 weeks as well.
I did try to ask for a loan phone but they mention they had no loan phone.

guess now is another phase of slow waiting since they exhausted their supply of parts

it happened before in Dec 2015 too and people were also stuck with 2 weeks of waiting. To those who dont have a spare phone it can be pretty rough, I myself lacked a backup device and went on to get a xiaomi mi4i while waiting for my phone to be fixed

I think the shortage is indicative of the lifespan of a defective batch.eg all boards swap in nov 2015 failing now resulting in a surge in demand for boards.

I wasn't asked for the receipt, just the phone itself will do.

When was this? Last time in Nov 15, I got it quite soon. This time, the wait is longer.

Since it's 2 weeks, they will give you a loan phone right?

No loan phones at all. :(

You can just walk in, no need to call in advance.

Do they know the exact date that the pcb board design was changed? Could someone help me ask if the 601 ver is the new pcb on their next trip down to collect their phone.
