i encounter the boot loop issue on my G4 dual sim (H818N). It started to boot loop just right before Chinese new year and I was at your service centre today and your CSO was able to replicate the problem. However, upon knowing that my set is not a local set , HK set btw, he claims that the boot loop only occurs on G4 and not the dual sim version and it will cost me $450 to replace the motherboard for a nearly 1.5 years old phone.
this is clearly an issue with th G4 model, no matter its single or dual sim and since its an International issue, there should not be any discrepancy on where the phone was purchased and fix the problem instead.

Here’s the full statement LG made to Android Authority:
LG Electronics has been made aware of a booting issue with the LG G4 smartphone that has now been identified as resulting from a loose contact between components. Customers who are experiencing booting issues with their LG G4s should contact their local carrier from where the G4 was purchased or a nearby LG Service Center (www.lg.com/common) for repair under full warranty.

LG doesnt have international warranty, this is a known fact.

The way that local warranty works is that they only will fix local units free-of-charge. This is standard procedure for companies that observe local warranty. Whether the problem with the device is isolated or widespread, doesnt make a difference to the warranty policy.

The most act out of 'goodwill' LG will do is fix your bootloop device even though it is out of warranty, but it still needs to be a local set.

Updated to v20g. My phone had its motherboard changed in 2016 august I think due to boot loop issue. Need to check the serial number for new mobo.

But since yesterday my phone keep on restarting by itself. Boot already, can use for 1-2 minutes then will restart.

But when plugged into charger it won't restart.

Tried deleting some extra apps and running malware bytes and AVG virus scan but still like that, thought it could be malware or virus.

Clear all the app cache and browsing history, cookies etc still like that.

So how? Go service center or can rollback to previous software?

And it gets a bit hot when rebooting. How ah? Need go to

Try change the battery. I rememeber last time G3 also have this issue. Once change battery ok liao.

not that its something serious but its quite annoying that it keeps pop up from time to time

Changed battery and still same problem. Although it's an old battery, dont see why it can be battery issue.

Using the old batt i boot into safe mode and watch youtube still restart.

I think unlikely. In any case, who will hold on to this phone after 2 years? Mine already due for re-contract and I'm just waiting to see the launch of the G6 & S8.

Ditto, I'm due for contract renewal as well. But now is not a good time to change a new phone. Anyway, I believe there will be at least 2 major Android update for G4. It might arrive earlier than Samsung Galaxy S7. LOL..

The G3 did get manage to get marshmallow, so I think the G4 should still stand a chance for nougat

Getting kinda tired of keeping up to date with the new phones (eg G6) and thought of getting Xiaomi Note 4 once my G4 dies. Extra battery doesnt work anymore because I could not power up my phone with it and the battery life I feel is getting weaker? Couldnt last me a day. Anyone shares the same thoughts?

Agree with that. Currently no phone interests me that much. Guess I will just stick with G4 till it dies on me. Removable battery is still king.
