Consumer rights in sg sucks! Some user in other countries are able to get a 1 to 1 replacement.. FU LG! :D

I have the feeling LG is trying to sweep this incident under the rug.. Well done! I hope they become famous for the wrong reason!

Glad I did not sell off my G3 and kept it as a spare....
Fingers crossed....

This is very important actually. Many ppl got no backup phone, so when their daily driver failed, they're basically hanging. I just don't understand why these ppl wouldn't bother to even have a backup phone.

I'm not sure about the rest of people but when I recontract I always keep my old phone. Sell away also can get only like $50 so might as well keep. I've been doing this for some years now and have quite a few backup phones ;)

Basically I think most people feel that doing backup itself is a 'chore', which actually it is, since the initial investment of time and effort is not that easy.

I was like that in the past, but ever since I experience the loss of data in HDD and bootloop in my old phone (sony xperia), I tell myself not be a victim of not caring at all.

So now, I do weekly backup into microsd and also into my pc.

Anyone used lgup software to flash to v20b? Dunno whether is my battery spoil or what, but battery runs out very fast. All I did was facebook, listen music or in xda. Downloaded gsam battery monitor and it shows a process called "system (logd)" eating up most of the battery. Anyone knows what's that?

Try v20a for our region. Sometimes the modem is tweaked differently for different carriers. Experienced similar battery drain when I was flashing rom for my htc. Certain modems for your lte can drain battery if not optimized for carrier. Disable Google now and location history to troubleshoot as well. And switch off wifi scanning always on.

I think the problem here is LG support is lousy. Even if people dont have backup phone I think they can tahan to wait 2 or 3 days no problem. But if you tell them repair will take at least 2 weeks then that is just unacceptable.
Maybe LG support is taking their own sweet time at work because they got the mentality that everybody got backup phones.

How do I revert back to having OTA updates after using LGUP software?

is it advisable to buy g4 right now as there are quite a number of issue on the phone?

Dual LTE or V10 would be a wiser choice. I am guessing that till now there is no solid and credible explanation as to how affected phones are failing?

I think that's about it? You can head over to the dual LTE thread to ask around. Other than that, no one seem to have any 'bootloop sudden death' issue so far.
