M1 refused to sell me one off-contract. Just got a set from Singtel. The LG rep at Singtel even came over to teach me how to remove the battery slot haha. No DAC modules in sg. According to the rep the DAC modules are getting shipped back because of they failed QC checks.

LG got so much time from MWC till now to fix issue. yet so much qc failed.

Phone Jack on top vs phone Jack on the dac makes a huge difference playing flac files. Speaker wise due to surrounding I can't tell much of a difference. I will try it again in a quiet room if I can.

I just bought mine at singtel for 968.
Comes with the free spare battery

I inspect the unit, the gap between the slot and screen is not visible for mine.

For the back, the surface feels not completely smooth but even enough for me.

Run your finger across the seam. If you feel a sharp edge biting into your hand, then the gap isnt flush and its not a good unit

based on the reviews i read from Pocketnow, the headphone output on the G5 (top jack, not the hifi module) is actually inferior to the G4.

Such a thing would be a dealbreaker for my personal use case lifestyle cos I use the headphone jack on daily commute and can already feel the G4 headphone is quite soft

you are kind of correct that its not 'the usual' android cable but its USB type C and its going to be the future USB you see everywhere that will replace all the old ones and few months down the road it could be the usual android cable, especially once Samsung transitions over to it.

I bought one too! hahaha i literally got to starhub at 11am, waited around a little cos they say dunno when stock will come, and as i was leaving to go shop a bit the stock came in. i abit sad now leh, the chin not exactly flush, is like 1 mm off and can see light coming thru. The button to release the chin for mine also sticking out leh... How arh? send in the warranty card or just call LG see if can change?

Anyways how did the guy above^ get a DAC :O I WANT ONE T.T

Mine is not exactly flushed but only a tiny paper gap. Titan color. Doesnt bother me cos i cant see it with casing. Actually, both side can see a bit of the metal connector at the front.

By the way guys, how to disable VoLTE?
