The G5 cam hardware is known to be capable of 1080p 60FPS, so dno why they never implement it. Maybe software update can fix it but wouldn't really hold my breath for that.
starting to suspect that theyre doing it on purpose cos the G4 could do it too but the camera drivers didnt permit it so the only option was to root to get the capability.
At this rate I think everyone who wants to be "first batch" customers better be extra observant when they collect their phone. Usually there would be a on the spot onboxing to see if it can boot properly, etc so have to take the effort to examine the magic slot seam.
Maybe also bring a dark box or something and throw the G5 inside to check for LCD bleed.
I personally am not bothered by the primer coating controversy but such an uneven seam would be dealbreaker to me.
Then there's the recent news that USA and Canada wont get the HiFi Plus module so for 2 major markets, the already pathetic module ecosystem of 2 modules is now solely the Cam Plus. It send s the message that LG isnt really taking the modular idea seriously.
Hopefully they can bounce back from this and the G6 will fix all these issues. The truth is, with the current 1 year cycle for electronics, getting it perfect on 1st attempt is near impossible but they need to double down their efforts and now give up so easily and start from scratch.
Like microsoft and the surface pro, the 1st version was bad, but microsoft really persevered and now the 4th generation of the surface pro is finally getting good. In contrast, the very same microsoft also keep starting from scratch when moving to their new mobile OS versions in the past, which frustrate app devs and thats why windows mobile now is so dead.
