Yah but most phone battery only bloat with overcharging after a few years, nowadays the Bros here change their phones every month, so usually won't become issue

For me I change every 2 years+ and if the older phone is still working, a change of battery and its still good as new. Since its already 4GB DDR4 of ram, similar to laptop, and a Snapdragon 820.
What more can we ask from a mobile phone?
Maybe a better camera and? 8GB of ram? SLI graphics? Water cooling phone?

According to reviews its 1 step forward, 1 step back.

They have added the wide angle lens so thats 1 thing to consider.

But all the manual mode video stuff in the V10 is absent in the G5. The G5 cant even do 60fps 1080p video, which the V10 could do and the G4 if rooted, could also do (guess have to root the G5 to do it)

Reason being LG still wants people to consider and buy V10. They will not kill it.

yeah,i dunno why iphone home button spoil so easily last time. used a s4 for 3yrs, all my buttons still functioning properly, only problem it gave me was that the motherboard or something died all of a sudden.

just hoping that the g5 with the modular parts would really bring more to the table smartphones currently presents, if not im jumping onto the s7 ship also.

It showed apple using very low quality hardware to say the least. Due to that the marginal they earned is huge.

Right, It's actually different target customer. The V10 is for someone looking for a phablet. They've made the boundaries even clearer by reducing the G5 to 5.3".

The difference between the V10 and the G5 should be a matter of screen size (not to mention having the inbuilt DAC on the V10).

Giving manual mode video controls to the G5 isnt going to hurt V10 sales because phablet seekers will still buy the V10

right now with so much mixed reviews on the G5 I think the v10 probably isnt even going to have trouble netting sales because buyers who want to play safe will lean on it as a more mature device

I hope it is due to responsible sourcing, meaning, pay the contract manufacturers appropriately so that their workers are paid fairly, not cut throat pricing.

LG isn't really known for audio bah. They wasted the good DAC on the V10 with bad implementation, couldn't believe how badly it measures. The B&O DAC actually looks promising, solid measurements.

The G5 cam hardware is known to be capable of 1080p 60FPS, so dno why they never implement it. Maybe software update can fix it but wouldn't really hold my breath for that.

But yea it looks like they pushed this phone out the door before it was fully ready, so many QC issues. Darn shame really.

starting to suspect that theyre doing it on purpose cos the G4 could do it too but the camera drivers didnt permit it so the only option was to root to get the capability.

At this rate I think everyone who wants to be "first batch" customers better be extra observant when they collect their phone. Usually there would be a on the spot onboxing to see if it can boot properly, etc so have to take the effort to examine the magic slot seam.

Maybe also bring a dark box or something and throw the G5 inside to check for LCD bleed.

I personally am not bothered by the primer coating controversy but such an uneven seam would be dealbreaker to me.

Then there's the recent news that USA and Canada wont get the HiFi Plus module so for 2 major markets, the already pathetic module ecosystem of 2 modules is now solely the Cam Plus. It send s the message that LG isnt really taking the modular idea seriously.

Hopefully they can bounce back from this and the G6 will fix all these issues. The truth is, with the current 1 year cycle for electronics, getting it perfect on 1st attempt is near impossible but they need to double down their efforts and now give up so easily and start from scratch.

Like microsoft and the surface pro, the 1st version was bad, but microsoft really persevered and now the 4th generation of the surface pro is finally getting good. In contrast, the very same microsoft also keep starting from scratch when moving to their new mobile OS versions in the past, which frustrate app devs and thats why windows mobile now is so dead.

the snapdragon 652 version actually sounded like an interesting idea to me cos it might be less battery hungry than the 820... but then i remembered the screen is still QHD...

Anyway im pretty sure the SE is just a trademark meaning they chope the name in case they want to use in future.

The 652 version was already confirmed named G5 Lite and is only sold in certain markets.

See I told you!

Good luck to those people paying premium price for an inferior quality phone. The build quality and image image retention issue on the lcd is totally unacceptable..

If you have too much money to burn, Please go ahead..

Outbreak just caution people on the value of G5, nothing wrong nor aggressive. We may not know what underlying problem that will surface after prolong use not to mentioned widespread G4 boot loop issue.
