I using spigen casing but that is not the problem.. I have tried using the phone without the casing.

Upon reaching to the customer service ytd, i have explained and shown the guy that my phone was very hot when power up and the burn-in will be quite obvious, so the guy said that LCD is fine becoz this phenomenon is part of the LCD characteristic.

I stunned.. how can this be the case and its my 2nd time encounter and they have change for me previously, so how can there be LCD characteristic and the burn-in is intermittent when the phone is hot.

If many ppl have complaint abt it.. shouldn't LG engineer change the manufacturer of the LCD to solve the problem?

Many times for me too. Same also, notification and status bar. After awhile is gone. But is annoying enough. I don't remember any other ips lcd screen phone got this issue. I was using sony previously, no issue.

I wrote in to lg service on this issue also. They told me this is natural for ips lcd and is common as well. I have not reply to them yet. Other phones that are using ips lcd like sony and iphone, i dont believe they have this issue.

I was able to get a LCD replacement for my G4 based on the image retention issue. It is a poor quality of LG's displays across generations that from 6-12 months of usage at max brightness the LCD will eventually start to exhibit this tendency especially at the status bar icons.

Very disappointed if LG is now starting to try and evade LCD replacements for G5 users. Whatever quantum IPS or something tech that went into phones from the G4 onwards to make their max brightness higher than before, it cause this side effect and it actually does worsen with age. Because this is an issue that only happens over the long term usage I dont think LG is even taking it seriously.

Actually, I tried all the setting I found online to try to improve the battery life. However, it does not really help at all. Tried to clear the application cache, disable the auto brightness. Despite doing all that, I realized that the battery life does not really improve a lot. Or maybe, to begin with, LG already got very poor battery optimization and therefore, after the software update it becomes worse. :s22:

I only can suggest LG should change the LCD maker so tat they can solve the burn-in issue, but it seems like they really tk it lightly.

LG doesnt take their mobile as seriously as samsung.

Even in terms of the way they market and promote their mobile devices it is laughable. 2016 got jason statham and joseph Gordon-Levitt doing wacky stuff on video and that was pretty much how the G5 and V20 were marketed literally. In terms of support, how they handled the bootloop saga of the G4 speak for itself.

Honestly the only thing I like in LG is how they made their stock camera app, it has a very good manual interface, but everything else about their G series lineup now is either mediocre or bad. The good stuff like manual mode video and the 32 bit DAC are exclusive to V series, the bad stuff like the battery life and UI design has not improved at all since 2014

Factory reset...

But I recommend you to wait for a while first if you dont want your battery to hurt.

If you are willing to factory reset, do go ahead.
