finally caught up to MWC news

got to say I am disappointed but not too surprised.

have said before that if they cut the battery capacity it will be dealbreaker for me. the camera which i loved from the G4 seems to not have been substantially improved (waited and waited for remarks that the sensor is larger, and got let down) and instead they added a second camera to do wide angle which people can already do with a clip on lens

magic slot, as i feared seems to be a super proprietary thing that adds the kind of value that could easily have exist within the device itself. There exist phones like xperia series with dedicated camera shutter button, or ZTE axon pro with inbuilt 'hifi' DAC but LG makes those into external 'accessories' and calls it an ecosystem.

the most ironic thing is the phone screen shrunk but the phone didnt become more portable cos it grew in height...

Double cam wide angle should give less distortion than clip on lens or something

not buying it, not app drawer is a big no for me,

Agree on the need for an app drawer. I guess Apple was right all along. A majority of smartphone users are idiots who cannot understand nor cope with the simple concept of an app drawer... sigh.

If I do get the G5, I'll either have to use an alternative launcher that gives me the app drawer, or perhaps move all the app icons to a folder and move the folder to the bottom dock bar (not sure whether LG's UI allows for that). That should mimic having an app drawer I think.

Folder has limited space there is no scrollbar to navigate through content also newly installed apps dont automatically go there, so it cant properly mimic an app drawer

At least they didn't copy the worse sin apple made which is that icons fill up the page from the top, and you cant move them freely. On phablet size that makes it hell to try and reach for icons

Looks like we have may more wear & tear problems with all the taking in and out of battery compartment and battery. LG should have make the Cam+ something like the Camera Grip of Nokia 1020. Just a clip on with extra battery module and connect to the phone via the USB port. I'm not really a fan of turning off / on wheneverI need to switch the accessories.

Yes, LG saw the need to reduce confusion amongst users when asked about this. Probably same reason that Google will give.

They are all pandering to the lowest common denominator - the air-head "CMI" user who probably does not realise that his Android smartphone allows for widgets and who does not backup his calendar and contacts. Looks like there are too many of them around and it became good business sense for Google and LG to cater to their needs... sigh

Did LG employ an ex apple employee as an advisor?? It seem like LG is shadowing HTC with 'innovations'. But please someone in korea with good english please translate to them what does innovations means. Innovations are supposed to make things easier not the other way round.

Moving the volume keys to the back is an innovation, an ergonomic one. Moving them to the sides for a dual camera setup? That's called crap! why do you need 2 cameras? Just have 1 with the wide setup and use the zoom/ crop feature if I want something smaller

A DAC? what for? You can put a DAC in the earphones and power them using the usb, that's what I'm using now (http://www.zorloo.com/#!zbudd/c1yf2)

An the phone colors, ohhhhhh... Don't let me start on that.. All the colors do ring some bells especially the pink and grey ones.

I hope LG burn their money on this and have the same fate as HTC!
