Region specific G6 specs are so confusing:

* South Korean G6 will have Quad DAC but no Wireless Charging and 32GB storage only
* US G6 will have Wireless Charging, but no Quad DAC and 32GB storage only
* Asian G6 will have 64GB storage but no Wireless Charging and Quad DAC

Those who wants all the three should buy three G6. LG is indeed Brilliant! :s13:

Thank god our variant got quad dac, ever sinced i used the V series phone i cannot take their sound quality. TBH no wireless charging not a big deal, end of the day still need to place on the pad, if need to use still have to remove with stop the charging.

Korean version also has 64GB storage not 32GB.

Huawei P10 vs LG G6 Dual Camera Shootout

From my limited photography knowledge, P10 if you take a lot of selfies and portrait of others. G6 if you take landscape/cityscape shots more :)

their rear cameras look pretty neck to neck in performance for daylight, would be interesting to see how the P10 plus fares as that one packs a wider aperture. The f/2.2 aperture really caused the regular p10 to fall behind for night shots

LG's wide angle cam is surprisingly decent in low light for lacking OIS and having narrower aperture

this shot though...

that lens flare is irritating, and has been a problem with LG lens quality since the G4

Ready to hoot but whennnn... As the date for Samsung S8 announcement is drawing near and G6 is still not released, I think LG might lose some market. Been checking out lgg6 hashtag on Instagram since ytd was the release date in Korea and the camera seems really good in most of the posts.

Uh.. that is still almost a month away.. and just two or three weeks away from s8 launch. The gap and price between G6 and S8 is not significant enough to be LG's advantage. The G6 is very tempting for me now but on the paper and somehow, consumers know S8 will do better and is more reliable. Can't wait to lay my hands on G6 to try out though.

Seems like lots of positive feedback so far. The only contender to be beaten is S8. Samsung will throw lots of gimmicks to the audiences for sure.

That could mean that we could go and check out a S8 first before the G6 even reaches our shore

i think that is the best option after all. There really is no point in rushing to get the best flagship that arrives first. The S8 is not like the Sony phones which will only launch much later in the year. It definitely qualifies as still worth the wait, if not for buying, then at least for comparing against the LGs and the Huaweis

LG and Sony can never catch up with Samsung it seems.
LG G6 (April onwards) and Xperia XZ Premium (June onwards)
By then Galaxy S8 and S8+ will rule the market and will become favorite !!

Nothing much Sony can do. XZ premium using SD835, so only when S8 is out they can start selling. And sony was never a real competitor against samsung.

Why Lg went for the SD821 was because they can start selling before S8 is launch. But now they start to sell so close to S8 release date, people might just wait for the S8.

Ahh! Finally, I have a curved screen hater here. Lol.. :)

Curved looks nice but it is simply not practical. :(

curve screen hater here too! dropped my S7 edge and the edge screen cracked. my first cracked phone screen ever. And curve screen phones can never get good tempered glass protector.

I had always love the side curved display. I don't find it not practical. My phone is always in a case and had no issues touching the edges unnecessary. And I don't believe in using any SP on all my phones and so SP choices had never been an issue to me
Sooner or later all phone manufacturers will follow such a trend including even renown Apple iPbone in ip8 .

the curved edge screen exists merely to give the aesthetic illusion of having no side bezels. This stems from phone manufacturer's placing priority over the aesthetics and 'style' rather than having practical benefit (same motivation to make phone super thin, and cause downsides like camera hump or smaller battery space)

curved edge screen actually has very little practical benefit and the warping curve of the edge display actually makes content viewing look weird. If it were truly a new innovation that improved the viewing experience, why dont samsung TVs or monitors have curved edges?

Because too expensive to make.

but if its so expensive, how is it samsung can make a huge 40-60 inch TV whose entire body is curved

clark-howard_487994986.jpg

yet to make a TV that is almost entirely flat only with the left and right edges being curved is 'too expensive'?

anyway if it really cost that much they'll just factor it into the price. ive never heard anyone complain a samsung is 'too expensive'. They just buy it if they want it.
