I wonder will those whymobile etc sell at this price when it's released.. 900ish less than 1k is very tempting! But I won't risk buying an export warranty.

Even if LG release it at 1K in Singapore, within a month it will start selling around $800.
No point spending 1K on LG, IMO :)

UPDATE: Qoo10 selling at $899 now !!

Looks like price sure drop very fast. Guess when S8 is out then price drop even more?
But then sometimes, really cannot wait...so got to pay premium. If have patience, then can save money...if money not issue....get it at launch :)

Actually S8 fingerprint sensor placement is really weird, thats why I am not sure if m gonna buy that. Xperia XZ premium is launching after ages, LG should release this **** soon. I really want to grab this for now :)

but if its so expensive, how is it samsung can make a huge 40-60 inch TV whose entire body is curved

clark-howard_487994986.jpg

yet to make a TV that is almost entirely flat only with the left and right edges being curved is 'too expensive'?

anyway if it really cost that much they'll just factor it into the price. ive never heard anyone complain a samsung is 'too expensive'. They just buy it if they want it.

That curve and handphone curve diff le. The bigger the surface area, the lesser it will break and easier to make. And a 40in TV, why do you even need flat and side curve? Make no sense. Try watching your TV and you will get it.

That is because samsung cannot get the sensor to work under the display. Hence last minute moved the home button to the back.

LG and Sony can never catch up with Samsung it seems.
LG G6 (April onwards) and Xperia XZ Premium (June onwards)
By then Galaxy S8 and S8+ will rule the market and will become favorite !!

The only way is to design ur own chips like Huawei (Kirin 960), Apple (A10) and even now Xiaomi has their own chips.

Havent there been a lot of people asking why samsung needs side curves on their display for their phones (even to the point of no longer making flat screen phones)

Aesthetic appeal is a good enough reason. Doesn't matter who argues its a stupid reason, the sales figures win the argument.

Certainly it was a good enough reason to put it on the phone. People remark about how beautiful it looks. And the fact remains, more people bought the Edge variant than the flat screen variant. Whatever the case may be I still dont think it really improves the viewing experience like how technology such as OLED does, it's just there to 'look nice'.

The only way is to design ur own chips like Huawei (Kirin 960), Apple (A10) and even now Xiaomi has their own chips.

Having your own chip doesnt really make your phone able to sell better. Even having the same chip as everyone doesn't (The G5 and S7 both used the 820, and the S7 sold way better).

LG needs to fix its marketing. No more jason statham wacky stunts, no more low-profile launch events held in some close door venue that only press can enter, and stop restricting the DAC or the wireless charging or whatever to certain regions. Otherwise the only people who will buy LG are the ones who care enough to come to forums like these
