Camera is on par or slightly better than S7 Edge and the wide angle lens gives G6 an edge over S7 Edge!

IMO in terms of hardware (not software) the S7's camera from last year was probably the best possible already. The sensor size, at around 1/2.3" to 1/2.5" is the largest you'll find in mainstream flagship phones, the aperture at f-stop of 1.7 is also the widest so far.

Manufacturers cant go any larger, or they'll get camera bumps which are apparently really undesirable these days (LG G6 even downgraded its sensor size to reduce camera bump), and they certainly arent willing to make the phones thicker to fit bigger sensors.

Thats why now the main improvement potential has to be software processing related. But I doubt any company's software will give such a tremendous edge. Also the software processing can be very subjective. Samsung is notorious for oversharpening and blowing up saturation, LG's looks like watercolour smudges when zoomed in real close etc

I will be buying S8+ confirm. Everything is exceptional on this phone, just that placement of fingerprint sensor is wierd, i will rely on face/iris to unlock phone.
Till date Note 7 was the best phone I have used, I think this will be perfect replacement for Note 7 (minus S Pen)

You should be making this announcement in the S8 thread lah. So weird I come into G6 forum to read Samsung fanboy's declaration to buy S8+. I'm here to read about the G6 lah.

I m not blind fanboy, was looking into XZ Premium, LG G6 and Galaxy S8. Finally decided to go with S8+

Samesung fanboy me !! It might be coz u are just bling LG loyalist, I have never used Samesung before S6 and was loyal Sony user, anyways u too enjoy ur LG G6 in case u buying

Haha.. I'm not loyal to any brand either lah.. Maybe we've been deprived of a good flagship phone all these months I'm appearing an LG fanboy myself.

If you like S8+, why not?? Its your personal device ultimately. But the curves are definitely not for me. Serve no purposes at all. Imagine subtitles fall below the curves when watching videos then it will be weird. Lol

Ever since my S7 edge screen cracked due to one fatal drop, I swore to never buy curved screen phone again. I've dropped all my phones multiple times and never once the screen broke.

On the side note, am worried about G6 being wrapped in glass don't think I could use it naked

So far, I see no perfect phones nor brands. Have their fair share of pros n cons. Just get what you are happy with. The same model can be smooth sailing for some, yet laggy for others. Strange ....

I received the Korean Telecom (KT) version from LG Singapore for early review. Yes it is generally usable, but there are a few LG apps that are in Korean (like LG Smartworld), oddly they do not appear in English despite setting English as main language. Most of the pre-installed KT apps are removable.

Other notable differences:
1. Korean unit is single SIM, even though the SIM tray is the hybrid SIM type.
2. The startup and shutdown animation shows "KT".
3. Certain hardware features may not work in Singapore, e.g. GiGA LTE, TV-DVB.
4. Apps like Quick Help, RemoteCall are in Korean.

why do they keep dragging when it was already officially announced in end Feb... and their so called strategy against Samsung is releasing earlier than them but ended up about same time. Huawei also had a media launch few days ago and released it the very next day. The wait is slowly making people jump ship IMO...
