:s22: why do they keep dragging when it was already officially announced in end Feb... and their so called strategy against Samsung is releasing earlier than them but ended up about same time. Huawei also had a media launch few days ago and released it the very next day. The wait is slowly making people jump ship IMO...

We are not even sure if LG has the strategy to beat Samsung. Funny that we are all assuming that they are.

I think for those who are really keen with G6, will wait for G6 regardless. For those who prefer Samsung, will get S8 no matter what. I don't see LG actually advertised G6 yet in SG, so technically, no one even know there is a LG G6 coming unlike Samsung S8. :s13:

Maybe Singapore is such a small market that they don't really care about...

I will share my thoughts by the end of the week. Today's pretty good. After 16 hours, I still have 22% remaining.

Will SG get the version the quad DAC or the wireless charging?

Singapore should be getting Quad DAC, wireless charging is definitely out.

menas if we want wireless charging and dual sim, we need to consider getting the US model. but then, i am thinking are they only limited to 32Gb?

how's the dual sim, 4G/3G?

are they finally going to have a proper public launch event? or still media-only closed-doors like before?

LG is disappointing... It's already April and no news of releasing in Singapore.

Now, the date is so close to S8 that even me, someone who dislike Samsung, is considering it.

Hell, I'm now leaning towards it too after seeing the design of S8 and thinking about the lousy G4 which died on me after using a year.

WTF LG? Maybe Singapore market is too small for you?

It's interesting that someone who dislike Samsung actually considering S8. :s13: That means you are not really into G6 after all right? Otherwise, you would have waited for it. I mean, it is such a hurry to grab a such an overpriced phone?? :s13:

Online reviews are out in the wild, so it's anyone's interest to read into the text and scrutinize the video reviews. Having said that, I don't trust reviews in general, that's why I always review the products on my own before recommending, because everyone's experience and expectations are completely different.

If spec comparison is all you want, then Samsung S8 is without a doubt the best smartphone with the most gizmos. But is it worth the money? Does everyone need 3 different ways (finger, eye, face) to unlock the phone? Is the curved screen really useful day-to-day? Is high screen-to-body ratio important?

As an independent reviewer, I think every product has its value for the right consumer market. Hence, I find great purpose in trying out products (even budget ones) and highlighting features that each product has. Then it's up to the individual to decide whether that feature is important.

That is part of the fun in gadget shopping. Cheers!

I am waiting for your review, especially on the battery life and the dual sim whether is it 4G/3G or 4G/2G?

I don't think these days especially in past 1 year any dual SIM phone is 4g/2g anymore. All the dual SIM I had used in past 1 year has always been 4g/3g. LG will be taking many steps behind with a 4g/2g phone

The Korea unit LGM-600K I am reviewing now is single SIM, so I cannot advise on the Dual SIM.

As for the battery life, I feel the battery drain is less compared to G5 and V20. Without using "Ignore optimisation", most apps are put to sleep during standby, so messaging app like Whatsapp and Gmail does not come in after a few minutes delay. While others like Instagram background push notifications does not come in at all until I open the app.
