OK I have done test with the USB 3.0 Type-C cable and am pleased to conclude that the LG V20 and LG G6 achieves the same transfer speed. I tested with a 606MB file and achieved around 7 seconds. The speed is identical to the data transfer to my external 2.5-inch USB3 HDD which I tested along side.

Using the same USB 3.0 cable, I tested on the Huawei P10+ and achieved 15 seconds.

In comparison, when I used the charging cable in the box, a 405MB file took 11 seconds to transfer to P10+. LG V20 and G6 took about 10 seconds.

Hope this helps. Bookmark this post! http://musicphotolife.com/2017/04/test-usb-transfer-speed-lg-g6-huawei-p10-plus/

TL;DR
- LG G6 and V20 supports USB 3.0 transfer speed, I tested it hits 78MB/s, same as USB 3.0 external HDD

- Huawei P10+ does not support USB 3.0 transfer speed, I tested it reaches 38MB/s with USB 3.0 cable

Hi, this is very useful. Thanks for testing out. Very much appreciated

samsung doesnt advertise its DAC in marketing so I think even if the S8 is legit using a cirrus logic DAC 99% of people wont know

my very first smartphone was a Samsung SIII, it used a wolfson DAC in the exynos variant, and I never knew, until way after I was already on another device.

I think for audio its still very hard to market to people because the DAC/Amp needs to go with good audio source and good earphones/headphones, usually only audiophiles will care enough to bother with these external factors.

With other things like a good camera its easy to market, cos the whole thing is self contained, it takes the photos and the user doesnt need their own external 'thing' to make the photo come out good.

Im glad companies are at least making an effort though, as a G4 owner the DAC/Amp was so bad it could barely drive a 32 ohm earphone

To me, yes. I'm serious. It looks like a toy to me. Very cheap feeling! Curved sides and rounded and curved corners... Oh Gosh! :(

Personal preference bah! :s8: I still prefer a squarish designed handset with flat screen. :)

LG G6 design fits my bill. :)

I m still waiting for G6 but LG icons are toyish ;)
This time bit ok though.

Omg that's a deal breaker! I assumed all smartphones to have

Ya man. After so long and after so many video, I just saw one video mentioning that there isn't any LED....

A deal breaker for me too... No difference from iPhone. :(

Coz the first thing I look at my phone is always the LED Notifications Light to know whether I have any sorts of incoming alerts from a distance..

What is the charging thing speed like? If paired with a QC3.0 charger and USB PD charger, which would be faster?

Yeah man it's a simple yet essential feature for me too. I am so used to seeing what alerts via the different colours without having to touch my phone

If the lack of an LED is a turn off then what's the alternative? P10 Plus? I already have the P10, fine phone but I was so looking forward to the G6.

Not much phone choices left if you mind LED so much. Unless you want to wait for Sony XZs and One Plus 5. I simply don't like the curved screen of S8 and its stupidly positioned finger print sensor

Deal breaker? Led light becummin less impt once u have those notifications since marshmellow. Even pixel also no have leh :p

Incorrect, Pixel _has_ the LED, just not turned on by default, which can easily be turned on using an app.
