Hi all, I have problem deciding which phone to get... What will u get and why?

I'm looking at:
p10+(6gb ram, like the vid taking at 60fps@1080p, but the 4k with ois output is jerky)

G6(love the vid taking at 4k with ois output... butter smooth)

V20(older, but removable batt is a plus, having a dac is not bad.. But read that there's problem with it)

Hello all,

I'm on a Nexus 6p the battery of which is on its last legs. Huawei are competing for the worst customer service experience of my life: I've been trying to get a replacement battery from them since mid April.

I'm coming to the conclusion that they're not ever going to have a battery in stock which means my original plan - to renew the battery and hang in till November and get the Pixel 2 - probably needs to be ditched.

So basically I've alighted on the G6 as a possible stop gap (and depending on the Pixel 2 and availability) a permanent solution.

I have a few questions I'd appreciate your help with, if I may.

1. How much is the LG G6 likely to be worth by November? It's going to cost around $800 new, so I'm guessing around $300-400?

2. How is the battery life? I've read wildly conflicting reports on this. I'm likely to turn the display down to 1080p from quad and turn down or off the always on display as well if that helps. I'm definitely a power user though.

3. Will I be able to bear the LG skin coming from stock Android, and Android 7.2 at that? Is it possible to forcibly install 7.2 or 7.1?

Ok, that's enough questions for now. Thanks for any help you can give me.

1) Probably 400-500
2) Batt is not bad though games like mobile legend seems to deplete it at a fast rate.
3) LG is quite simple to use. Prefer it to samsung UI.

1. Noone can predict the future, especially if at that time V30 may have been released as well. As of now should be able to get one below $700 brand new.

2. Based on my usage coming from N6P, idle battery life was better in N6P. I don't feel it is consistent in LG.

3. You gotta replace the launcher with your preferred one. I am using Nova. I used Pixel launcher in my N6P. However, I still don't really like some aspects of the LG skin, e.g., the big clear all button at the bottom on app switcher view. I almost always accidentally tap on the clear all button.
You can install custom ROM if you want a more updated Android version, but not with stock ROM.

Thanks.

Where could I get the phone for sub 700?

I want the Asian one. Double the storage is more important than wireless charging.

I'm using Nova too.

Better avoid buying LG phone. Their service center is at a weird location. Both times when I had to sent in G4 for repair, they took almost 2 weeks to fix my phone. It's a real pain in the ass if you do not have a backup phone. Horrible experience..

That's nothing! I've been waiting for a replacement battery from Huawei for my Nexus 6p for 5 weeks now!

For obvious reasons, obviously, you should get the local set which comes with 2 years warranty. If you can find one on qoo10, you can wait for $100 coupon to get it. I got mine from qoo10 for $750 with installment almost a month ago, while today retailers are still selling around $770 cash only.

Your first point (300-400) in BN set? You wait long x2.

G6 BN right now is around 750-770. Staying strong till now. Used set roughly 600-650.
