Haha. I didn't ya. I was waiting and then the S8 came along and I got that first. I don't have my S8 anymore though now that I've finished reviewing that. Haha.

Basically, S8 wins in pretty much everything? Haha. But I do like flat screens more than curve. The fingerprint sensor is way better on the G6. Battery life seems a bit better for me. The wide angle camera is a good improvement over the V20, still fun to play with, but not a deal breaker.

The S8 is the more expensive phone here after all. :s13:
Are you serious? S8 fingerprint sensor is better than G6? u do know about the awkward placement right?
I havent really tried the s8 other than the regular fondling at the SE shops but i feel the stretched skin presents 2 issues :
1) the buttons (yes i know they are virtual :p) are really all the way at the bottom making it hard to hold the phone securely one handed while hitting the buttons
2) the minimal bezels especially at the bottom dont really provide much real estate to actually hold the phone securely.

that said, i prob need to use it for 1-2 weeks first to be a fair comparison :p

You misread liao lar.... He say G6 fingerprint sensor way better than S8 .... No one like the weird placement of the S8 fingerprint sensor.... but its rumored last min decision as the under glass sensor failed to work so i think they just place it where is convenient for them to redesign

Haha. You read opposite Liao la bro. Actually it's not just the awkward position. The S8 fingerprint sensor is a lot more finicky. Have to position just right and tap then can read. The G6 one works almost every single time, the S8 one sometimes have to try a few times.

For nav button on the S8 I think it's fine though. Cause the width of the phone is quite narrow (slimmer than the smaller S7), and quite light too. So can reach the bottom quite easily with the way normally hold the phone with my pinky finger below the phone.

But it's way harder to reach the top to swipe down notification on S8 compared to the G6 even though it's just a bit higher. I like that you can put the notification shade button on the bottom, but I prefer if both company can just change to using a swipe down on anywhere to get to notifications. Like MIUI. Will make it way easier to use on a tall phone.

Paiseh, combination of late night reading and early onset of senile dementia :)
Yah I dunno, when u pay so much for a phone u will be less willing to accept such compromises. Also s8 doesn't have dac, qc3, extended warranty, flat screen etc. G6 just presents much more value in my imo

can anyone advise on this ? Thank you.

Sent from Samsung SM-T825Y using GAGT

If you're talking about the app, i don't think there's a way to disable it out of the box. I just went into homescreen settings and hide the app completely. :s13:

Camera is not too bad too. Main camera feels similar to V20, wide angle performs better this time round with the sensor upgrade.

But I think I need to use my older phone 304SH in the mean time my current N6P the battery Ganna torture until now it shut of @ 40% and drain damn fast. My Singtel circle yearly recon can only happen in June, cannot earlier liao. Haha thought can bring the G6 for my upcoming trip.....

This is the reason why I choose white :)
My personal opinion, if you compare with the platinum and black, both the black and platinum side looks more plasticky... See to believe it or not is just my personal preference...

In real life they look slightly gold under certain lighting condition. Most of the time just look silver actually.

Why, u need the processor until so precise that it hampers u from buying?? Unless you really do side by side testing and I doubt any of us as layman will even notice... Anyway if you can wait then always keep waiting u will never get to buy anything;) my two cents ... If u can wait means no need to buy at all...

Get a cheap case tong first so you can bring the phone? Haha. If you're planning to take photos you'll really enjoy the g6's wide angle camera one. Haha.

the 10nm architecture of the snapdragon 835 supposedly is more power efficient, but knowing LG's software skin, I'm sure the battery life will not really be that much better

Processors since the snapdragon 801 days have already been generally pretty good. Its the software that needs to catch up and be more optimised.

Yeah that's what i was expecting having used the G5. The battery life really was CMI. Esp standby but I am very pleasantly surprised with the G6 so far, battery life is actually very good though dislaimer, I switched off the always on display. Other than that, I am using LG skin with volte on.
