seems so. manufacturers tried to release their phones on sched even if there's shortage on the memory supply. hoping no one will notice or take action. lol

S8/+ --- atleast uses UFS, 2.0 is still manageable
G6 --- if confirmed should be using UFS 2.0, this is cheating, since there's a huge diff between UFS and eMMC
P10/+ --- this is the worst, stating UFS 2.1 but you will get eMMC, this sucks big time.

To those saying this should not matter (not here, other forum), it's a big lol. you paid v exp price for premium, yet you get the same specs from old phones.
Given the size of media and apps/games now, this memory specs plays a big role too. you will really notice the difference.

all "cheat"? so dont buy all.
Sammie also listed as UFS 2.1 initially but later on changed to UFS.
Apparently same thing is happening to LG & Huawei.

Just realised that the quick charge is only applied to original usb/adaptor? Or any cable and adopter will do? Cause when charging using original cabe/adopter i don't see it started "quick charging"

It's using Qualcomm's Quick charge 3.0 standard, so any chargers that supports that standard is able to use fast charging ya. I'm using a third party QC 2.0 charger and i remember seeing on the lock screen saying fast charging?

Nope, it doesn't state as "quick charging", but rather "fast charging". Anyway, it's best to read the amps and voltage measurement than just relying on that wording. I am using USB C to C USB-PD charger and it's charging at max 1.8A. Didn't see the voltage though, but it is certainly faster than charging via regular USB type A to type C. I never use the original cable/charger, since I have got Google and Cambond type C to type C cables. And using Anker USB PD/multi-port type A charger.

Indeed, G6 looks better even it's using an old 2015 camera sensor! Interesting!

OT: You sold off Huawei P10 plus?

my friend is buying my P10 Plus

While true that the G6 is better I feel like a lot of it came down to the software trying to compensate for a smaller sensor. Using software to sharpen a pic isnt new, in fact samsung's the most famous user of that technique

If you look carefully at the pictures where I shot the G4 and G6 at equal ISO and shutter, the G4 is slightly brighter, a proof that it could take in more light than the G6.

It's just that because the G4's software processing was so old and bad (relative to todays standards), its noise at higher ISO is way worse than the G6. In the G4 thread I mentioned before I would never shoot in auto for the G4 at night. For the G6 it's still possible if the street lighting is sufficient.

Its the notification indicator that shows it, I think. The always on display has the same indicator icon

Normal charging: battery with a lightning symbol
Fast Charging: battery with a lightning symbol inside a circle or as i like to call it, the PAP logo

Stock charger got fast charging?

The output of the stock original charger is 9V 1.8A or 5V 1.8A. So yes, it supports fast charging. Just read the charger spec.

Just tried to open Grab, no issue, can load the map fine.
