Anybody with G6 got issues with app like Uber and grab? The map is not loading in these app. Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks!!
I had an issue with Grab, it always crash when I tried to use it. I simply uninstalled it, and reinstalled it, after which there wasn't any issue with it at anymore.

Yes. I did.
U need to soft reset the phone and it will fix everything..

Where can i find UAG COVER FOR LG G6?

There's a shop in AMK Hub that has it too. Very friendly boss, but eventually didn't buy it cause prefer thinner case. haha. Level 2, called GX or something like that. they have the UAG display outside shouldn't be hard to find.

is M1 selling the dual sim version?

Anybody take a look at the amount of space the LG in-built app (LG UX 6.0) took up?

TouchWiz will took out about 8GB internal storage.

It depends on the country you're buying it from. The ones I've seen in Sg are from Korea? the main difference is just that it's single sim i think? Also there's no warranty of course. But considering it's a 2 years warranty for local set, the export set would have to be significantly cheaper to be worth it at all. :s13:

Korean set are 32gb single sim
Korean set no warranty in singapore
Korean set have a different model no.

Sharing my review of the phone here. Overall, quite like the phone surprisingly. Yes, it's not going to win the Galaxy S8 in most aspects, but it does have a few things going for it. It does all of the basics well at a cheaper price. Also the use of the flat glass is a great move too, so for folks who don't like curved edges, the G6 provides a really nice alternative to the S8.

Other than some minor complaints about the software design (some of which can be tweaked), it's a pretty nice phone to use day to day. The display is good looking, the design of the phone is really nice, feels nicer to hold in hand compared to S8, the performance is decent enough, battery life is better compared to the S8 for me, the camera performs well enough, and has water resistance too.

For the folks who wants to use it as music player, there's the Quad-DAC too. I can hear the difference even on cheap IEMs, but I mostly use bluetooth anyway. Also the fingerprint sensor is not only in a better position, it's more reliable compared to the S8's too.

Overall, a solid effort from LG here. Hopefully They can keep this up on the hardware side of things, but they really need to get better at making software... :s13:

Video review for those who those who are interested.

the snap camera HDR app is one of the 3rd party camera apps I use
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marginz.snap&hl=en

lately i found that since it has controls to modify sharpness, I can lower sharpness to counter the LG 'oversharpening' that is being done by the camera,

Of course there is a loss of convenience when you rely on a 3rd party app and this app in particular has a very nasty bug at the moment on the G6 where the image occasionally jitters when a shot is captured. I have to disable its use of Camera2 API (and hence lose its low light mode and manual mode features) but it doesnt bother me so much cos manual mode GUI on this app is not nice so I dont bother

Nice review!

For me hardware is superb, decided to buy this than S8. S8 feels like a toy in my hand. Only issue for me is the FFC, hoping atleast they upgraded it.

Another thing is, transferring files to SD card seems slow for me. Either from PC to SD or Internal Storage to SD, takes a lot of time to transfer files. Maybe it's* my memory card, but I'm using this in my S7e before, and transferring is fast. That's why I researched about the flash memory used by G6 and rant about G6 using eMMC5.1. 😂

With regards to software, obviously behind Samsung's UX in terms of features, but I'm liking it because if feels more professional to use than the candy like interface of Samsung.

Give us the ability to change icon for stock launcher, and app drawer (without reverting to v4.0), and I will marry this phone. Lol.

Wah. But while i think it's bit over-sharpened, the extra effort like not worth it. haha. anyway if don't pixel peep, the images will generally still look pretty good. I find LG's HDR mode not as good though, like can still see a bit of the "soft glow" around objects that you get with HDR modes. It's not very obvious, but can still be a bit distracting at times. haha. But overall most flagship phones have pretty decent cameras these days. Most of the complaints I have are just nitpicking.

haha. thanks! yeah, agree on the FFC too, the quality isn't really that great. Even S8's camera i'm also not that impressed with it. It might be down to personal preference, but I tend to prefer more natural looking ones with as little processing, smoothening as possible. Huawei P10 actually has a decent FFC to me, and the Galaxy A7 (2017)'s 16MP FFC actually looks not bad too. haha.

For me I didn't really transfer anything through the phone. Just pop in SD card separately. haha. So didn't really affect me for the transfer speed. haha.

For me i just wish the design was more cohesive, and pay more attention to the little details. Especially for their own default apps. But well, can just slap on a different launcher okay already. Good thing about android. haha.

Finally decided to hoot G6 and overall nice solid built phone except for some software bug (tap undetected notification??) and the poor FFC which is too washed out

Anyway, i got a LG G6 Case Rugged Armor Extra from spigen willing to let go as i find it to bulky for my liking. anyone interested can PM for further detail.
