starting to wonder if my G6 fingerprint reader is occasionally defective, I have incidents of 100% failure to read fingerprint in all unlock attempts, until the attempts are all used up.

What happens is that the phone will do its vibration motion, presumably detecting that there is a finger in contact, but it fails to authenticate, and prompts try again

problem is not solved when using different registered finger, or when phone is reboot, or when finger and reader are wiped clean just to be sure

being such an intermittent issue, it becomes something that is near impossible to demo, even if i go service centre. currently it is my #2 pet peeve with my device, with the #1 pet peeve being that god awful post processing oversharpening for camera

Looks like a screen protector, but can be easily removed after a few days usage

I have been using LG G4 and hesitating if I should upgrade to LG G6 or Xiaomi Note 5 which is cheaper. LG G4 got a couple of problems. I encountered the boot-loop problem which forced me to go back to LG service centre. Today, my battery gets heated up quite frequently.

Does LG G6 have the same problems with LG G4?

I changed from G4 to G6 which I'm using now. Very happy with the G6 and everything is better. I do miss the removable battery and 2nd battery which I could change on the go but at least the G6 has better battery life and charges faster. I'm quite a gamer and run many games but the G6 does not heat up at all unlike the G4. The only things I missed on the G4 is the better front camera and speaker sounds a bit better. Other than that, G6 is a huge upgrade

Thanks. My LG G4 starts to heat up after > 1 year of usage. If it is due to battery problem, then I am worried about G6 design of having a non-removable battery. Not sure if it is just my phone or affects all G4 phones. Hope LG has fixed this heating problem in G6, particularly after battery has become non-removable.

Just a fun post, my cases arrived from Aliexpress, now both my phones are protected with similar metal side bumpers and back covers. Like the feel, but not as good grip as my silicon and rubber cases.
