Anyone tried Google Assistant? Any useful features?

It is a mil 810 spec certified phone
The G6 does extrude a premium feel on hand. Sturdy. It's something that is missing in the G7 I feel.

Is LG G6 considered a rugged phone? I dropped it on the floor 2 times. Nothing happens. Far more rugged than Xiaomi phones, although Xiaomi phones are cheaper.

I'm starting to encounter OTP problems. I have intermittent problems receiving SMS OTP from banks. The solution is to restart my LG G6 phone. Upon startup, my phone will receive the SMS OTP messages.

Anyone encountered similar SMS OTP problems? I don't know whether the problem is with the LG G6 or MyRepublic.

if u can borrow a phone from someone, pop your Sim into their phone and then try to get an OTP, this will A/B test between your G6 and that other phone. If still got problem then its your telco, if no problem then likely the G6 was at fault.

You can also check is your G6 only having trouble receiving OTP type of SMS, i.e. do other type of SMS still go through just fine

The Oreo update is slowing down my G6. After a while (I am not sure how long), pressing the end call button can take a few seconds. Selecting "mark as read" for SMS notification will also take a while. Reboot will resolve the issues.

Is AI features like AI camera only a software update? LG G7 has AI camera. Can LG G6 do the same after a software update? Not sure if AI requires special hardware on the phone.

No AI for G6 just OS update..

Sometime i feel like if the software stable should we upgrade? Because daily usage still smoothly after upgrade bugs appear here and there...

if theres an older version of the software that you want to be on, you probably need LG UP and the relevant KDZ file for the software, then manually flash, then once you do make sure you never enable auto-check for updates else the phone will never stop nagging about there being a new software update (no way to stop being notified once the phone picks up the existence of a new update)

service centre always goes for latest software. if they service your phone and need to do factory reset, they'll put the latest version software on your phone.

After the oreo update my whatsapp is unable to play voice notes, anyone else has same issue? Backed up, clear data and reinstall whatsapp still have same issue.

hihi anyone can answer? I tried to update my phone back when it first came out, then took 4hrs to dl 50% , after i cancelled it i cant seem to find it anymore. tried LG bridge also say i using latest update.

I upgrade mine to 8.0.0 upon availability.

No issues whatsoever with overall usage.

Only variance which I seem to observe is shorter battery life. Other than that, all the software stuff working as per normal. Whatsapp, no issues at all.
