Yeah, using the G7 now, they really tuned up the brightness after so many complaints about the screen. So far the best LCDs that I have seen for smartphones are for HTC, dharp/iPhone and now LG. lCD also will not hav burn in effect so you do not worry when you use onscreen buttons

The lcd is seriously good imo. Brighter than oled

Based from my past experiences of LG phones using IPS LCD, I can say that they are very bad in terms of longevity. Normal usage btw.

V10 - image retention / ghosting after just a few months
V20 - slightly better than V10
G6 - have ghosting after some time, but way better than V10

I'm not saying G7 screen will have this, but don't expect too much when it comes to LG screens. Specially now when they brightened up more the display, imo, it will be more prone to ghosting.

Edit: By the way you are correct, LCD don't have burn in because it only affects LED. Image Retention/Ghosting issue is the one I'm talking about for LCD.

As a G4 owner who had image retention, and having a parent who had a G5 always on max brightness to the point where image retention is virtually permanent on their screen now, I'd be wary of going too bright for too long on an LG.

Its probably better not to try and check your phone in direct sunlight frequently. if outdoor is so bright that your eyes have to squint, your're making it harder for your own eyes to see the screen too :s13:

Now in all fairness I also had a G6 which never had image retention, but then again i never dared to push the brightness on that one.

Received an update today, V10c-SEA-XX, security patch up to 1 Jun 2018 but never spot the 4k 60fps recording.

The double tap to take photo still works in G7.

Just the scroll up or down using the fingerprint sensor they have removed..which is ok for me. Prefer nova gesture instead.

Has anyone upgraded from LG G6 to G7 here? Happy with G7? Any regrets?

I'm using LG G6 now. I like LG because it's one of the few phones which provide 2 year warranty. This says something about their confidence in their own product.

Used the G6 b4 and using G7 right now. The G7 doesn't heat up as much compared to the G6 when im using social media or browsing the web using chrome. It's a little taller. Camera is a huge improvement. It saves the pictures much faster.
