Used the G6 b4 and using G7 right now. The G7 doesn't heat up as much compared to the G6 when im using social media or browsing the web using chrome. It's a little taller. Camera is a huge improvement. It saves the pictures much faster.

Heating up has always been a problem for me based on past experience, especially when updating Android apps with Google Play. Does G7 heat up when updating apps?

How about the width of G7 compared to G6? When it comes to reading, width matters more than height of screen.

The only time it gets really warm is when I first setup the phone and it was updating almost every apps. But after that, not much heating issue when updating apps from the play store.

Width wise, it feels about the same to me. And according to GSMArena, they are exactly the same at 71.9mm.

The g7 is really a signuficant improvement. I now enjoy movie at home or in my car, the boom box speaker really sounds good.

I also like the far field voice recognition for google assistant. The ability to recognise my voice command at 7m means it is also much more accurate. I now have a 90% accuracy when using voice commands. Side by side with my friend iphone x and samsung s9, their siri and bixby CANNOT RECOGNISE everything we tried.

Did u turn on the AOD? My standby drop 15% over nite...though it is only first few days...

My review for this phone after a few days:

Pros
- Camera for me! Punchy colours but not too exagerrating unlike some "leica" effect
- Wide angle lens is so much more useful for me than those portrait and telephoto
- Currently never experience any lag other than during the initial setup
- Quick charge is useful
- Bright screen under the burning sun
- Phone doesn't get too hot when playing pokemon go, only warm
- Standby time is good, 1st day was a 5% drop overnight, but after afew charge cycles, it is down to 2% drop overnight

Cons
- Though standby is good, but when using phone, the battery drain kind of fast, though like previous post saying, its still bearable

Overall, happy with the phone :D

seems like update is on the way......font really too small for me to read, especially the one at the top.

The new Android-based firmware also increases the default size of the home screen font used by the LG G7 ThinQ so as to make it easier to read, according to Verizon’s official changelog. The handset has been updated with a custom music equalizer setting as well, allowing users to fine-tune the audio playback performance of LG’s 2018 flagship. To access the new tool, launch the system Settings app, navigate to the “Sound” interface, select the “Sound quality and effects” option, and tap the “Equalizer” button on the following screen. The time format selected in the Settings app is now also reflected on the Weather app pre-installed on the LG G7 ThinQ, delivering a more consistent user experience regardless of whether users prefer the 24-hour format or the 12-hour one.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Preview: Everything You Need To Know
The default Calendar app of the device has also been improved and now allows users to sync event additions with existing tasks or files, whereas the phablet’s Camera app now supports Google’s AR Stickers, just like the South Korean tech giant promised in June. Verizon is distributing the new LG G7 ThinQ update as a conventional over-the-air package that’s likely to take at least a week until it becomes available to all owners of the Android flagship in the United States.
