i looked at the article and dont seem to find anything major sticking out.
At most the review says:
- the colour calibration is bad in terms of accuracy
- the camera is disappointing (as a LG user i wont be surprised on this cos they have not really produced any major camera improvements since the V20)
I don't own a G7 but looking at those low light samples it kind of reminds me of the G6 and V30, those were 2 phones that relied heavily on a noise reduction filter (you can toggle it in settings) to ensure RGB noise was under control for low light. This is what produces the watercolour effect. When I tried turning off the noise reduction filter, there was too much RGB noise

this is the V30 which I tried last year at the ion orchard roadshow. Shooting at only a mere ISO 200 with the noise reduction filter off you can see how much noise on the black roof in the scene.
I will say that until LG bumps its sensor size up to par with samsung/huawei, it's to be assumed their camera image quality in low light is now on a plateau ever since the V20.
