LG OLED firmware updates

Hi experts,

Was considering the 65 inch B6T OLED from LG, but heard about bad input lag for PS4 PRO.

I understand that they released a firmware update in the US, but it hasn't come to Singapore yet.

Is it possible to download the US firmware and update a Singapore purchased TV?

Thanks

meaning the new firmware will make the OLED tv faster ???
i thought the speed depends on the TV processor

He is referring to input lag when gaming and it seems that this was fixed with the new firmware update (i think they introduced an HDR gaming mode but there have been complaints of screen tearing at the bottom of the screen in this mode). Based on posts elsewhere the input lag has dropped to like 28.5ms and confirmed by rtings.com

The latest firmware version is 04.30.77 and i think Singapore is on 04.30.65. There is a way to update the TV using a USB drive so maybe you can download the update from the US site and update manually?

I'm also waiting for prices to drop too for the 55B6

Thanks for the guidance @nelkon30, I was concerned that because the TV is going to be purchased in Singapore, there would be some sort of region block on using a firmware released in the US.

Finally bite the bullet on my TV purchase.
From initially wanting to get a Sony 65" X7500, Ended up with a OLED65B6T!! OMG :eek: Maybe really shouldnt view the demo...cuz the quality is just way beyond all the non OLED models (tested the higher range Sony & Samsung too) And just nice, i dont need the in-built sound bar + the 3D.

To be honest, i only need the TV prob 2-3mths later, depending how fast my reno will complete. But the sales person gave me a very good price (or i think is a vr good price..haha) to bite the bullet.

$4500 (traded in every thing) + $100 voucher for using a particular credit card

Can wait to enjoy this!!!!! :D

Can anyone who has been observing the LG promos confirm that LG RedFair promos is a year long event? Always have something special one right?

Just as I was thinking of getting a new TV, my current Panny plasma goes and starts acting up with a line right down the middle of the screen.

Luckily I got the 5Y BD warranty.

The service guy they sent says it's a panel issue. No plasmas being made by Panny anymore so I guess a new tv is a must now.

Have any of you guys received your B6 already? Pleased with it?

How will BD compensate you?

I'm assuming the tv cannot be repaired. If it can be, then they'll foot the bill.

Otherwise, based on their 5Y warranty plan, I'll get 40% of the price I paid for the tv as my tv is in it's 4th year of warranty.

Not too sure in what form the 40% is gonna be though.

That's interesting. Because when I talk to Harvey Norman, they said they will change 1-1. Which means they will give you 1 with same specs, same brand.

Different policies, I guess.

Besides, Panasonic stopped making plasma tvs 2-3 years ago. So it would be a near miracle if they could get the panel replaced, cos I really dig the image quality of this plasma tv.
