How do u verify the firmware revision of your bot? How did u know its rev 8180 that was in your bot?

from the australia forum, it has references to another german forum which is the original source on how to "hack" the rk voice files. seems like the german forum is pretty active in terms of rk discussions

did some browsing on the forum and this thread talks about one of the methods to access/extract info from your rk; pretty interesting info u can extract other than firmware version

HomBot 3: Firmware Version bestimmen?

just need to use google translate since it's in german

The firmware is for 6270... i wonder does it works for 6260?

my understanding is that the firmware applies to the series of rk i.e. 62xx or hombot 3.0

this is the link to 6260 firmware on lg china
LG VR6260LVM

did a compare with lg singapore's 6270 firmware and they seem to be the same

Hey gurus,
Is there a way to 'restrict' the areas of the home which the RoboKing can venture to clean?
E.g. don't want it to go into my svc balcony, or the toilets (which don't have any drop or kerb)

Like some form of marker of sorts to tell it not to go into these areas?

got my roboking from autovacstore, thumbs up for the prompt delivery.

i was able to flash my rk to the female speaking voice without any issue using the forum link by kst: LG Roboking robot vacuum - Cleaning - Home - Whirlpool Forums

after that flashed it to 9785; the stock firmware that came with the rk is 8180.

did a trial run and in the 9785 firmware, i noticed that the rk does a run along the perimeter of the house (in my case the living rm + kitchen) before it returns back to the charging base; did not recall seeing this in the old 8180 firmware.

will do another run today and see if this is the same observation.

cheers.

Is it because you are not in zigzag mode?

The only way to keep RK out of certain areas is to put obstacles in its path or close the door(s) entirely.

IMO, its certainly worth getting the extended warranty.

Seeing how these bots can sometimes break down even during the 1 yr warranty period, is it wise to get the extended in-house warranty? Am contemplating to get this unit from Best Denki :)

Depends on the price. How much is BD selling this? If its ~1200, then buying direct which is ~600++ is OK as its half the price. Enough to get another replacement.

oops...missed that. I would get the Qoo10 deal as I can almost get another new one as replacement. Acutally, I just bought it :)

Yes, its a good deal though u are forced to buy 3 additional attachment mops to go with it. I bought one (already shipped out) as a spare unit though my 6172 is still working fine. Too good a deal to pass up upon! ;)

Wow just checked out Qoo10, it's almost half price! How are they selling so much cheaper? Does it come with warranty too?

I believe the warranty is only local to Korea. It is the risk u'll have to take if u opt for this deal. Should something go wrong, u can still claim warranty repairs BUT u will have to pay for shipping. Having said that, the failure rate of LG Robokings during the 1-year warranty period isnt very high. My 2 year old unit is still in the pink of health.

May I know if anyone try b4 send their home bot to LG service center with the home bot they bought form q10 by paying service fees?

Interest to get one from q10 with the price but not sure is it genuine or not.

Anyone bought from .autovacstore before? their price is between LG authorised dealer and q10.

I am in dilema to choose buying form autovacstore or q10.

After reading of the posts I'm curious to find out if anyone managed to flash their 6260 / 6270 to the English voice? I've been using the one from Korea for more than a year now, it's not that I don't like the bot in Korean... But it would be nice to actually understand what it's saying...

Anyone can post the link (For the file) & step by step instructions here?

Did anyone try it & it's working now with English?

After posting my question I went online to do some research & found the same file on the AU website...

I've downloaded this & will likely try to flash my RK tomorrow...

I already posted couple of pages before. The link from German website works. Just download the file, unzip and put on USB.

Very simple steps.
