Wow! Looking forward to your review!

Actually I'm not that qualified enough to write a review . Basically What I'm looking forward to this trick is hoping I could max out its amplifier module , and get a much significant louder volume output increase , in the hope of without noticeable hiss , noise floor after the higher gain output volume increased .

I'm experiencing very weak volume output on the V20 with my IEM of ****************** Impedance: 41 ohm +/- 10% @ 1kHz, Sensitivity: 123dB @1mW .
Before the V20 I'm with HTC one max , the HTC drive the 41ohms very well much much louder despite its Vrms output ( 1.2++ ) is of a much lower value compared to those which is reported to have a output of 2 Vrms on the V20 .

I don't own any headphones , iem which has the required amount of Ohms , at least 50 or higher to trigger and drive the V20 to a higher gain / maximum output with all 4 onboard Dac activated .
Therefore , I'm hoping a workaround with this trick will actually works .

Right now , with my 41ohms iem , I get to utilise ONLY 1 of the 4 onboard dac on the V20 as NORMAL AUDIO DEVICE .

Nevertheless , after I received the required kits , I will report back of the findings whether or not it's workable .

I got mine from starhub 3 days ago and as current it spotted the smart doctor , but I wasn't sure if it's smart doctor or smart cleaning in the first case before I updated to the latest firmware update .

Did you already performed a FW update or hasn't ?

My set from telco came with smart doctor since day1 and after update. The other set with smart cleaning was from an authorised dealer. Software version at v10d.

LG should have in the first place have a setting to put Auto or Manual operation of the DAC instead of just Auto select based on impedance. We have good quality IEM and headphones that range from 16-45 ohms, such as the Shure SRH840 (I am using) and Shure SRH1540.

To me, this is just the lazy and incompetent part of LG's engineers and programmers.

Mine is smart doctor too. Does it do exactly the same thing?

Did you check if the set is the same SEA variant as yours? I think in some market, it is Smart Cleaning.

Why smart cleaning? Not smart doctor.

Yes , they should have implemented it in a much user friendly interface to let users decide on to control the gain , and not using high/ low impedance as a mark to determine the quality of the iem/ headphones, and let the sensor decide on the power output.

I guess the 2 plug thingy is guaranteed to work as many out there has already try and the trick does works .

As what's the overall quality of the sounding , signature is like after achieving higher gain power output , 4 dac activated , stronger volume , It's subjective and it's all solely down to individual preferences , which you prefer most .

I think it's worth to invest the 2 jacks to give it a try on the V20 , considering if one has owned a couple of very nice pair of iem / headphones but unfortunate which all is under the Impedance of 50ohms .

Without doing so , we'll never know or get to experience fully on how good how capable of the amp , max output , 4 dac activated is on the V20 .
Both jacks can be purchased at no more than $25 + free shipping on eBay .
The downside is , it will be another 2-3 weeks of waiting for the extender Jack to arrive . Can't wait to do a 're demo of my various types of genres songs/ music on the V20 with those trickery . . Stay tuned

DAC and Amp are 2 different things. I am not even sure if people can hear the difference between an amped quad DAC and unamped quad DAC. Worse is they hear "better" quality compared to S8 because it is louder (oh ya that's a great difference).

The way DAC is implemented in also important. That's why some high end stuff being equal in specs is more high end than others with the same specs on paper. V20 is good on paper

Lucky day , need not wait for eBay jack to arrive , Managed to found a 3 pole L right angle extender Jack on carousel , going to meet the seller and bring back the thing to hook up the 75ohms impedance adapter which I got it earlier .

I had picked the V20 over mate9 mainly because of the audio it brings , I was hoping the V20 brings a significant upgrade in terms of audio quality over my 3 yrs old HTC one .

But upon after the first listening experience with the V20 on my 41ohms iem as a stand alone set-up without using external amp to push it , I was totally devastated very disappointing , totally unsatisfying audio experience , it was a night and day compared to the HTC one , even though on paper spec the V20 is of much powerful on its amp output ..

Till I came across the adapter trick , hopefully , it will match the paper spec by employing those adapter to trigger the amp output to better drive my beloved 41 ohms to its maximum potential .
With the V20 2 vrms output on paper , the only highest output right now ( higher than the HTC ) , it should had no problem to drive my 41 ohms at all , let's see what can the 2 adapter brings .
It's hard to believe this is how the V20 is driving my 41ohms with its 2 vrms output ... It's not even got the power to drive it at all on normal mode .
The LG engineers has got it wrong on this implementing with thr auto impedance sensor thing on their flagship .

As for the dac , it's damm good on my 41 ohms, clarity , no hiss , zero noise floor is what I'm getting now as a stand alone set-up ,just a lack of higher volume and apparently the lack of maximum amp power to better drive my 41ohms .
But needs to be seen if it still stays that way after implementing the trick .

I will update here later after I collected the L Jack , whether or not it makes magic
