With OLED or the rumoured P-OLED, the screen can do the functions of the dual screen better

Was charging my phone and 2 hours later my phone charging port melted. Went down service center said my charging port has water damage, but all my water indicators on battery and phone is still white. Even if there were water damage it probably is due to the charging getting so warm at times cause condensation. Now LG just push away the case and say warranty void, either pay to repair or leave phone as it is. I am lucky it didnt catch fire!

Heat does not cause condensation, it is actually the reverse, i.e. the temperature of the device being below room temperature, that makes moisture condense (thats why cold drinks have condensation, not hot drinks)

Have you been using the phone with that charger with no issue in the past? Also, the typical symptom of water damage is that charging doesnt occur (especially true for samsung phones), not charging port get melted

make it viral bro.

if the water indicator is still white, amd they assessed it to be water damaged, then we as a buyers of LG mobile phone has no safeguard on our warranty to the phone.

the water indicator is there to determine whether a phone had came in contact with water or not.

did you ask them what type of benchmark did they use to conclude that your phone is water damaged, instead of using the water indicator as a guideline.

even if the phone is water damaged, i think they should at least investigate what is the cause for the burnt, and is the case isolated or warrant for more thorough investigation.

are you using non-original quick charger?

like someone said, speak to the higher management.

do you have a microSD?

i realised with the mSD in use, the phone tend to lag quite a bit. So ill usually eject it.

ever try using the Clean Master to clear the cache and ram?
I'm not sure if using a faster mSD will help. Currently I'm using type 1 16gb.

Recently reformat my phone and now it's back to normal (for now). Not using clean master too.

Even if it's water damaged, it shouldn't be like that. It's a safety risk. And suggesting leave phone at it is? Lol maybe you need to raise that to higher ups. You have a good case here.

LG just wanna push all responsibility to me.

Maybe send it to Android Authority? If it doesn't happen in a big scale, I guess LG will just ignore you and sweep it under the rug. Make it viral like the G4/V10 bootloop saga and LG will jump out of their ass and do something about it..

You should have told them, "I did not charge it while still wet duh!":s13:

So V20 is like a disposable phone, once the port got wet, you cannot charge it again. Smh

FYI if you google "phone USB port melt" the 1st result is a V20 reddit post about someone's V20 port 'melting' as well :s22:

If you look at the results in general most ppl will say its short circuit (which from common knowledge yea it could possibly be caused by a liquid or metal)

Here is a forum post of a user experiencing their warranty getting voided by Samsung telling them their melted charging port was due to liquid hence no warranty

Battery life seems to have gotten worse for me. Need to charge at least 3 times a day if it's a long working day for me. Luckily can swap batteries.
