Hi, you were saying it’s been totally quiet for 4 months. Meaning they didn’t do any art work and harassed your house? I hope the same for me. Almost one month in ghosting them.

Hello! No, it's been 4 months since he last sent a runner up to my place for a "follow-up" maybe after he did è artwork! I got è artwork about 1 month after ghosting him.

Thanks for the reply. Guess I must be more alert for the coming weeks. Hopefully my CCTV will deter a bit.
If it really does happen, just bite the bullet and face it. It might feel embarrassing at first, but that feeling won't last long. You will probably be focusing to protect your family. SPF will step in and investigation will begin. Sooner or later, the runners will be caught. That is when you will start to feel a sense of relief, though it is still best to stay vigilant.

So prepare yourself mentally, just in case. And if it doesn’t happen, it is even better. Don’t dwell on it too much. Stay positive and take care of your mental health.

Just checking guys, if a runner came up to take a pic of your unit, shortly after LS send the pic to you by WA. Can the police arrest the runner?

Not sure if the police will arrest the runner. But you can inform the police about it as long as the runner took a picture of your unit and send it to the LS in which they are using that picture to threaten you.

Just let the police know :)

Latest news by SPF yesterday:

Police probe 93 people for involvement in unlicensed moneylending

If you are reading this thread, better think twice before they (UML, Loan shark or whatever) ask you to do things like a runner for them.

The Police are already stepping up and investigating these people with their involvement in unlicensed moneylending.

So please don't go and do stupid things to ruin your own life. It is still not too late.

Don't even open the message, just immediate block/report. Life is good. thats all they can do. U put BIG BIG CCTV sign there where people can see. It'll be a good deterance.

https://www.police.gov.sg/media-roo...ed_for_a_series_of_loanshark_harassment_cases

The Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a series of loanshark harassment cases.

On 16 July 2025 between 4pm to 11pm, the Police were alerted to a series of loanshark harassment cases island-wide, where the main gates and doors of several residential units were splashed with red paint and debtor’s notes were left behind.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police cameras, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within six hours of the report. Preliminary investigations revealed that he is believed to be involved in at least eight similar cases of loanshark harassment.

The man will be charged in court on 18 July 2025 under the Moneylenders Act 2008. For first time offenders, the offence of loanshark harassment carries a fine between $5,000 and $50,000, with imprisonment of up to five years, and caning of up to six strokes.

The Police have zero tolerance for loanshark harassment activities. Those who deliberately vandalise properties, cause annoyance or disrupt public safety, peace and security, will be dealt with severely in accordance with the law.

Members of the public are advised to stay away from loansharks and not to work with or assist them in any way. The public can call the Police at ‘999‘ if they suspect or know of anyone who could be involved in loansharking activities.

For those who are lurking here, in fear, and not knowing what to do. Always remember, the UML and scammers are not your friends, paying them does not pacify them.

Ignore, Ghost, and do not pay!

SPF is on your side.
Seems like this month July, the number of loan shark case, is not as many as last month. Good job to SPF stepping up. :)

I’m glad that I came across this forum. Members here gave me advice and support. Even I lost my well paid job, I got a new one even the pay is much lower. My wife also slowly forgive me and give me support. After stop paying those scums, made police report and CCTV installed. I’m much better without those stress that worrying where to find money to pay defer payment. Now in second month after ghosting them. I will continue to be vigilant and will not make the same stupid mistakes again. Ever!!!

Yup, it will be MUCH better, got work better than no work and I can see your elevated level of stress has drastically reduced.

Work for yourself and your family, not these f**turds. They will be gone soon enough.

Remember, nothing much that some thinner/turpentine can't fix.
